Where to Ski in Europe This Winter?

  • January 31, 2017
  • admin

The best winter vacation should include snow, a few cool pubs for imbibing apres-ski, and a fun chalet to gather with your friends and family. And, while there are plenty of different options in Europe when it comes to the best ski resorts, nothing can beat the French Alps.

Home to some of the most famous ski resorts in the world, the French Alps will always be a great, timeless choice for ski lovers everywhere.

In this article, I will tell you why the French Alps are the best European destination for skiing.

  1. There Is Something Here for Everyone

The biggest reason to choose the French Alps for your next ski getaway is that you are sure to find whatever suits your needs and preferences here. Whether you’re looking for gentle nursery slopes, black-run thrills or a vibrant nightlife, you can find something here for every taste and budget.

And, the great news is that with such high demand for tourism in the area, there are always great offers and amazing ski holiday deals you can get. All you need to do is do some research, stay updated, and be flexible.

  1. It’s Everyone’s Favourite

You know you have a winner when both celebrities and budget-conscious skiers choose the French Alps for their winter holiday. From actors such as George Clooney to royal heads and international celebrities, there’s a good chance you’ll spot someone famous on the slopes of Courchevel or Chamonix.

You can stay at five-star hotels, indulge in fine dining and attend some of the most exquisite events, or you can rent a chalet with your friends and have fun at the local pub after a day on the slopes. What matters is that everybody has a lot of fun in the end.

  1. World Renowned Ski Resorts

The French Alps carry a lot of tradition in winter tourism. Bosting 600 kilometers of ski slopes, unique alpine charms, and plenty of off-slope activities that you won’t easily find anywhere else, it’s easy to see why the ski resorts in the French Alps are among the best winter destinations in the world.

Even if you are not an avid skier, the simple sight of the largest mountain range in Europe will leave you speechless. Not to mention that the legend of Mont Blanc is hard to beat.

  1. A Lot of Cultural Events

It goes without saying that it’s impossible to get bored during a ski vacation in the French Alps. You might think that ski resorts can’t offer the cultural charm of famous cities, such as Paris or Lyon.

You would be wrong.

While you won’t find impressive cathedrals and haute couture stores, the French charm is still very much alive even in the smallest mountain village. From cultural events to parties, concerts, and amazing apres-ski festivals (yes, that’s a thing) there are plenty of things that the French Alps offer that other resorts can’t.

  1. Who Said Luxury Has to Be Expensive?

You say France, and you automatically think of luxury. While France is, without a doubt, the land of many exquisite treats, luxury here does not necessarily come at a high price. You will be surprised to find out that many of the ski resorts offer great deals for family packages. Consecutive uses passes or deals that include several winter activities are also highly convenient for budget-conscious travelers.

These are just some of the reasons choosing the French Alps as your next ski holiday destination will be so worthwhile. Never before have ski retreats been so affordable and tempting than now. The French Alps continue to remain one of the top ski destinations in the world.
