Planning the perfect yachting itinerary along Croatia’s coast

If you are drawing your ultimate yachting route to Croatia’s coast then you may already know some of the gorgeous sights waiting for you there. The clear sea, the number of islands, the walled cities, and, above all, the sunbathing.

Now, with a yacht charter in Croatia, you can make your own timetable and no longer need to be cramped in one of the island hopping tours because you can enjoy it at your own rate, on your own yacht.

Tailor your dream itinerary

Knowing your preferences will guide you in choosing destinations and activities. After you understand your preferences and needs, it’s time to choose your dream sailboat in Croatia.

The beauty of chartering with Croatian yachting charters lies in their flexibility. You are the head and the master of the ship which is a yacht in this case. Thus, depending on your choice of a sailboat or a bareboat charter in Croatia, it is possible to keep changing the plans. It is also possible to highlight all the attractions and lesser-known places that you would like to see.

Island hopping in Croatia

It is after you have selected the perfect yacht for your needs that you have to decide on which islands to visit. Croatia has more than a thousand islands and every of them is different from another one. And while you can just go blindly into this adventure, here are some of the most recommended islands to visit in Croatia by other travellers:

  • Hvar: This island which was recently popular among celebrities has, lots of nightlife, good restaurants and beautiful beaches such as Zlatni Rat or the Golden Horn.
  • Brač: The island boasts of Zlatni Bol beach where tourists flock to try out windsurfing among other water activities, beautiful villages, historical landmarks and a laid-back experience.
  • Korčula: In addition to the walls and old town sometimes compared to Dubrovnik, Korčula is a perfect destination for history buffs and wine lovers.
  • Vis: Vis is a car-free island accessible only by boat; it is an off-the-beaten-path ecosystem heaven with numerous secluded bays, high rocky cliffs, and impressive underwater scenery perfect for scuba diving and snorkelling.
  • Mljet: While being a part of the national park, Mljet has everything one might need with clear waters that are great for kayaking and exploring the island.

Mainland marvels

The mainland of Croatia is also interesting. When making your itinerary, make sure to consider incorporating these gems into it:

  • Split: A lively city hosting Diocletian’s Palace included in the UNESCO list, unique historic places, beautiful landscapes, and tasty cuisine.
  • Dubrovnik: Known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic,’ Dubrovnik is protected by UNESCO, its impressive city walls, attractive squares and sites from the famous series ‘Game Of Thrones’.
  • Makarska Riviera: It is famous for beautiful stunning views, clear water, long pebble beaches, and some beautiful towns such as Makarska or Brela.

How to plan a day on a yacht?

Go out and explore the places but also make sure you follow it with some rest too. There are many water sports activities available in Croatia such as kayaking, paddle boarding, diving and snorkelling. And on a yacht, you can do these.

People who want to discover the past of Croatia can explore its ancient ruins, fortresses, and charming towns. Foodies can indulge in fresh seafood, local wines, and regional specialities on land.

And if you’re coming to Croatia, you must not forget to simply soak up the sun on secluded beaches and hidden coves, letting the rhythm of the waves lull you into relaxation.
