According to statistics, there were approximately 51,664 total crashes reported statewide in Nevada recently. That’s a daily average of nearly 61 accidents per day just in the Las Vegas area.
Additionally, a 2021 report showed 970 traffic fatalities occurred over a four-year period in Clark County, where Las Vegas is located. This averages out to around 194 deaths annually due to auto collisions in the county. And in July 2023 alone there were 32 fatalities, consistent with data from July 2022.
While no one expects to get in a crash while on vacation, it’s wise to be prepared in case the unfortunate occurs. Follow these tips if you find yourself in an auto accident while visiting Las Vegas:
Remain at the scene
Leaving can lead to criminal hit-and-run charges. Move out of traffic lanes if possible. Turn on hazard lights and set up road flares or reflectors if you have them.
