Celebrity Travel Destinations Revealed

If you’re looking for some inspiration for your next trip, look to celebrities and their choice of destination, as we round up the latest travel hotspots of the rich and famous.

Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z head to Cuba

Music superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z have just celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Havana. The couple were snapped on the balcony of the Hotel Saratoga and Jay-Z had the ubiquitous Cuban cigar in hand! Although Cuba is a restricted destination for Americans, it’s a really interesting travel spot and one which I think will really develop in the coming years. I visited a few years ago and the highlights for me were culturally rich Havana, hiking the waterfalls of Topes de Collantes and swimming with dolphins!

Havana is like nowhere else on earth with iconic 1960s cars being coaxed along the streets which are lined with crumbling period architecture. Buildings show Havana through the ages with colonial, art nouveau, baroque, revolutionary and neo-classical examples all evident. Most tourists head to Varadero, the developed all-inclusive resort scene, although Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo are a little more laidback and offer fantastic diving, fishing and watersports opportunities. Don’t miss Trinidad with captivating colonial houses and museums and the superb scuba diving spot of Punta Francés.

Peter Andre enjoys a safari adventure in Kenya

Pop favourite Peter Andre has just returned from a safari trip in Kenya. He and his girlfriend enjoyed a romantic trip in the Meru National Park where they spotted lions and elephants. They also dined at world famous Carnivore Restaurant in Nairobi which famously has various game meats on the menu. Peter tried the crocodile but apparently didn’t like it!

Kenya is packed with deserts, beaches, mountains, coral reefs and of course, some of the most amazing and famous wildlife spots on earth. Travellers can spot elephants and admire Kilimanjaro from the Amboseli National Park, explore the old quarter and Jesus Fort at Mombasa Old Town and marvel at thousands of flamingo in the Lake Nakuru National Park.

Jessica Alba soaks up the luxury of St Barts

Actress Jessica Alba, her husband Cash Warren and friend Nicole Richie have just enjoyed a break in the playground of the rich and famous – St Barts. Officially known as St-Barthélemy, the Caribbean paradise island is an overseas territory of France. Located amongst the Leeward Islands in the French West Indies, St Barts offers fine dining, postcard-worthy beaches and superb watersports facilities.

Rita Ora grabs some winter sun in Las Vegas

British singing sensation Rita Ora grabbed some much needed winter sun in Las Vegas last week. Besides whiling away a few hours at the casinos, there are world-famous shows every night. Catch the Cirque Du Soleil dance-troupe extraordinaire and ride the 230 feet rollercoaster at New York-New York. And when you want a breather, take a spectacular helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon, relax in the Black Canyon Springs and witness the might Hoover Dam.

Dannii Minogue catches some rays in Barbados

TV presenter Dannii Minogue spent a few days soaking up the sun in Barbados. The list of celebs that flock to Barbados is endless (think Simon Cowell and Rihanna) and the good news is that you don’t need a Cowell-sized budget to explore Barbados. Travellers are treated to oodles of white sand beaches to choose from, fantastical fresh food, historic plantation houses and of course, the odd drop of local rum. Visit the beautiful Andromeda Botanic Gardens and join in a game of cricket with the locals!
