  • Robert

Are you planning on visiting Paros in Greece and you are looking for a place to stay? Paros is one of the most beautiful islands in Greece, with many things to offer for its guests. Many excellent accommodations cater to every budget. From all-inclusive resorts to small family-run boutique hotels and rooms, Paros is the ideal destination for every taste.

You can stay in Paros in many areas, like Aliki, Parikia, Naoussa, and Piso Livadi. Each town and village has its benefits and is near many popular tourist attractions and beaches.

In this guide below, letโ€™s see some of the most popular and graphic areas to stay in Paros, Greece.

Choosing accommodation based on your needs

The area you will choose depends on your budget and the type of holidays you prefer. Some people prefer staying in big towns, so they have everything on their feet. Others prefer to rent a car in Paros for a few days, explore the island, and discover its secrets. Some people choose small villages with local and traditional tavernas and scenic beaches to relax.

Also, families are better suited for self-contained accommodation. Others prefer a full-inclusive hotel with a bar and many other activities. There are many things to see and do in Paros. Choose based on your best interest.

Best places to stay in Paros

As mentioned above, there are many places to stay in Paros. The best of them are:

Naoussa

Naoussa is a fishing village on the north of the island, a distance of 15 minutes drive from the port in Parikia and 30 minutes from the airport. Lageri, Agioi Anargyroi, and Stefano Beach are some close sunny beaches. Naoussa is also the 2nd most big town on the island. It has many bars and restaurants in the main square at the port and exquisite shops and boutiques. If you get there, remember to visit the winery and taste the infamous Greek wine. The nightlife can get busy as well. Night bars can stay open until the morning, although it can get quiet in the next street.

Parikia

Parikia is the capital of Paros, the area with the main port and the home of 3000 people. Just in case you want to have many services and amenities near you, such as banks, government offices, museums, and churches, there you will find what you are looking for. You may have heard it as Hora, which means town in Greek and has the typical Cycladic architecture, with the white and blue buildings and the narrow streets.

There are many things you can do in Parikia. There is an ancient castle at the point of the town near the windmills. You can also visit one of the magnificent churches of Greece, Panagia Ekatontapiliani, which means Our Lady of a Hundred Doors. You can find many budget accommodations and hostels.

Piso Livadi

Piso Livadi is a small and quaint fishing village south of Paros. It is 11.30 km from Naoussa and 16.65 km from Parikia. If you are a food lover, you must stop at the seafood tavernas and cafes. After lunch, you can take pictures of the boats moored in the picturesque port. During summer, Piso Livadi offers access to Naxos and the Small Cyclades.

Lefkes

Lefkes is a medieval village in the middle of the island, around a 30-minute drive from the airport and a 20-30-minute drive from Naoussa. It is known for its quaint traditional scenery. The scenery persuades tourists to rent a car and spend a day in Lefkes. Its main attractions are the Church of Agia Triada and some small museums. If you follow the graphic Byzantine Road, you will end up at the sea.

Aliki

On the southern part of the island, you will find another charming fishing village called Aliki. The water in this naturally occurring harbor is nearly always serene and well-shielded from the wind. Excellent tavernas and cafes flank the bay. Some of them are directly on the sand. In the small marina, you can find the Cycladic Diving Center and many boat rental locations.

In addition to the main beach, in Aliki is another wonderful one called Galatis. It is just around the bend and heads farther west. Here is a nice playground for the younger set as well. Paros offers a range of charming places to stay. Popular picks include the lively town of Naoussa, the capital of Parikia, and the hilltop village of Lefkes. But don’t be afraid to explore beyond! Renting a car at the airport or port gives you the freedom to discover Paros at your own pace and uncover hidden gems.
