6 Tips to Make Your Motorcycle Adventures More Comfortable

  • July 6, 2021

There’s no denying that motorcycles are fun to ride, especially on a road trip. However, compared to other vehicles, they aren’t the most comfortable. Without making some adjustments, you may find it challenging to travel for extended periods of time.

In this article, we are going to discuss a couple of tips to follow so that your next ride is more enjoyable.

Want to learn more? Then keep on reading.

Wear the correct gear

When you first get a motorcycle, you might think that any old gear will do. However, this is one area that is worth spending a bit more money on. High-quality clothing will not only last longer but will also keep you safe.

Alongside your jacket, pants, boots, and helmet, pay attention to the little things: your gloves and even the socks you wear all play a part in how comfortable you will be.

Purchase a seat pad

A sore backside is definitely one thing that every motorcyclist has experienced at one time or another. While you can choose to replace your whole seat, a seat pad is an affordable solution. From foam, gel, air, and sheepskin, there is a range of options out there to choose from. Trust us when we say you (and your behind) will be grateful on your next road trip.

Take regular breaks

Fatigue is one of the leading causes of vehicle accidents, so it’s important that you take regular breaks if you plan on going for a long ride. One general rule that many follow is to take a rest every 20 miles. However, the amount you need really depends on the individual.

If you have been involved and injured in an accident, make sure you find the right expert in motorcycle claims to handle your case. This will take a lot of the stress off you so that you can focus on your recovery.

Invest in a windshield

Even with careful planning and preparation, there may be a time where you get caught out in some bad weather. A proper windshield can be a very wise purchase as it will help keep the rain, wind, and bugs out of your face. Just make sure you do some research. You’ll want to make sure you pay attention to the material, color, and style when making your final decision.

Get a cruise control gadget

If your motorcycle doesn’t have a cruise control function, it can definitely be worth getting a gadget to keep handy. They are placed over the throttle grip and will make long trips much more bearable. Your wrist won’t get so sore, and you’ll be able to maintain a safe speed.

Stay in touch with others

Lastly, the final tip to make your motorcycle trip more comfortable is to stay in touch with others. If you’ve got friends coming with you, look at getting a communication/intercom system that allows you to talk while you are riding. It really is worth the investment.
