This winter, travel is looking much different than it has in the past. Typically, individuals and families pack their bags and travel to various destinations during the winter months. From snow skiing to tropical getaways, winter vacations offer the opportunity to escape the monotony of everyday life and experience something new and exciting. This year, many people are determining road trip destinations or domestic places that will fix their travel void while avoiding unnecessary exposure. In this article, we will share five warm destinations to visit this year in order to escape the winter cold.

1. Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas is a popular resort town in Mexico. Located in the northwestern part of the country, this destination can be reached by vehicle from the United States. Many people are hesitant to drive across the Mexico Border Crossing, but it is typically an easy interaction. This town is packed full of beautiful beaches, incredible dining experiences, and luxurious resorts.

2. Palm Springs

If you appreciate the outdoors and are looking to spend time enjoying unique aspects of nature, venture to Palm Springs, California. Located nearby large national parks including Death Valley and Joshua Tree, this destination has many different activities that can be enjoyed by locals and visitors. This region of the country stays warm year round, making it a great place for golfers and hikers to visit. Whether you choose to camp or reside in a five-star resort, there are adequate options for any traveler.

3. The Florida Keys

The Florida Keys are located at the southernmost point of the Eastern United States. This region is known for crystal clear waters and amazing fishing opportunities. Many outdoor enthusiasts spend weeks fishing the waters and exploring beautiful coastal towns. With such amazing views and opportunities for adventure, you can escape the realities of your everyday life in this tropical paradise.

4. Maui, Hawaii

Although you cannot roadtrip to Hawaii, this destination is the perfect place to visit in every season of the year. Because it is part of the United States, there are less travel restrictions associated with a trip to Hawaii. From hiking to snorkeling, golfing to swimming, this Hawaiian Island has incredible beauty that is waiting to be explored. From volcanoes to waterfalls, there are immaculate views that you will remember for a lifetime. If you are feeling adventurous, you can travel between Maui, The Big Island, and Kauai.

5. San Diego

San Diego is a beautiful city that is fairly easy to travel to. WIth a coastal vibe, this city offers a nice balance between beach town and big city, and there are lovely beaches that are overflowing with surfers throughout the entire year. This city offers coastline views that are lined with cliffs and jagged edges. There are many restaurants and state parks that allow you to bask in the natural beauty of the area.

Summary

Although travel looks different this year, there are many ways that you can escape the dreariness by traveling within the states or via a road trip. Thankfully, there are states that have sunny skies and warm days throughout the entirety of the year. Not only does travel allow you a chance to relax, it allows you to experience new perspectives and different cultures. By being safe while you travel, you can experience the perks of globe trotting without fear of becoming sick.
