What Is The Difference Between Classes In Aircraft Service?

  • January 8, 2021
  • Jules

Despite many people’s fear of flying, air travel is the safest form of transportation. Besides safety, traveling by plane is also the fastest way to get to another city, country, or continent.

However, there are some differences in the comfort one can enjoy while flying. Most people choose economy class tickets and do not even know what they miss out on. So, what is the difference in airline seats?

Economy Class Service

The base fare includes essential services: a passenger seat, baggage, and, possibly, food and some soft drinks.

Economical jets usually try to accommodate as many people as possible for a flight to be cost-effective. There are two or three rows of seats in the cabin, with three or four seats in each row.

Economy class luggage is limited in weight. Usually, it is only one suitcase (up to 23 kg) and one hand luggage piece (up to 10 kg).

The companies do not feed passengers on all economy class flights unless a journey lasts more than 2 hours. Usually, the simplest meals are served in disposable dishes.

Check-in for the flight takes place at a standard counter, where you have to wait for your turn. Waiting rooms are public and do not include additional services.

There is a premium economy class where you can take two baggage pieces, choose from a diverse menu, and have more space in the cabin. There may also be additional bonuses like welcome drinks, travel kits, and ceramic tableware.

Business Class Service

The higher tariff comes with much more pleasant conditions — it boasts space and comfort. The backrest of a seat reclines, giving an opportunity to sleep soundly. You can take double luggage on board: usually, two suitcases up to 35 kg and two pieces of carry-on baggage are allowed.

The choice of dishes is broader and of higher quality; food is served on ceramic plates with metal cutlery. You can order alcohol and cocktails or choose any other drink.

There is a separate check-in counter and a comfortable waiting room for business class passengers. Additional services include free Wi-Fi onboard, the latest newspapers, monitors, and audio headsets. First Class Service

First-class passengers feel most comfortable and carefree. Usually, such a tariff is costly, so it is used by media personalities: celebrities, politicians, and businessmen.

An individual first-class seat is very cozy and has plenty of legroom. It is equipped with a blanket, pillow, and modern media gadgets. Some airlines even provide seating designed as a suite.

A special menu is prepared by professional chefs using the freshest ingredients. The selection of meals suits every taste and is coupled with the most expensive and elite cocktails, wine, and champagne.

The allowed amount of luggage is the same as in business class. A separate check-in counter without queues, a luxury waiting room, and professional service are included in the price.

Air Business Class experts recommend choosing an appropriate rate based on your budget and needs. Usually, a comfortable business class is worth it if you have long international flights. Such a trip is very exhausting, especially in uncomfortable conditions. If you need a 2-hour flight around the country, economy class will allow you to get a basic set of services and avoid spending extra money.
