Malta is one of the most interesting travel destinations that you could include in your travel itinerary. It is an eventful destination with many key events across the different seasons of the year, so your visit is most likely going to coincide with one of the events. If you are undecided on what to do once you arrive in Malta, one of the suggestions would be to take part in one or more of the events.

Here are 5 events you will find interesting while in Malta.

1. Rolex Middle Sea Race

If you are a yacht fan and you are wondering what to do in Malta after arrival, the Rolex Middle Sea Race is a recommended event that you should consider. This is a yacht race that is organized by the Malta Yacht Club. It was founded in 1968 and features a 607-mile race, which starts and ends in Malta. The race takes a route around Sicily in Italy, so if you love yachts, this is something you don’t want to miss because it offers you all the fun an enthusiast yearns for.

2. Valletta 2018

While in Valletta, you will come across a few events to be part of. These include the Valletta Film Festival, which is a one week event in which the city is transformed to a cinema to feature several films. You could also choose the Valletta Pageant of the Seas, an exhibition of boats, so if you are an avid lover of the seas and Malta’s weather, this is an event you should not miss.

3. Good Friday processions

The Maltese culture has deep-rooted Catholic beliefs and the Good Friday is one of the events that are used to showcase this culture. A day before the Easter, people commemorate Jesus’ crucifixion. The event is not only celebrated in churches, but the streets are also used for the Good Friday Processions. Locals wear masks and chains to signify penitence. The most common procession spots can be found in Rabatim, Senglea, Zebbug, and Birgu.

4. Lost and Found Festival

Lost and Found is a festival that brings together a series of events, sometimes involving performances, where you can enjoy the Maltese culture and simply have fun. It will take you to pool raves, daytime parties, and also some night-time events that will reveal the beauty about the people and culture of Malta. Enjoy castle raves across different destinations.
