Denmark – an under-rated gem of a destination

Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital city is the most liveable city on the planet. Its attractions are within cycling or walking distance from each other. It allows you to experience old and new Europe at the same time. Cobbled roads will lead to lively nightclubs and pubs. The can find the new Opera House just across the water from the Royal Palaces.

Aarhus is another city in Denmark that’s popular among visitors. It is easy to reach and found in between beaches, national parks, and fjords. It is the second largest city in the country and has a well-preserved city centre.

If you want to learn more about the history of the country, then head to Odense. It is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and the bicycle city of Denmark. However, the Little Mermaid statue is found in Copenhagen.

Style and Design

Danes are known to be world class designers. Just think of Georg Jensen jewellery, luxury audio equipment Bang and Olufsen, and the Sydney Opera House. All of them are designed by Danish artists. And you can find excellent examples of the unique Danish design while walking along the cobbled streets of Copenhagen.

World Class Cuisine

Danish cuisine is not really known in other parts of the world. But it is one of the reasons why you should consider booking flights to Denmark. One of the must-try foods is the Smørrebrød, which is the go-to dish for the Danish working class. It is an open faced sandwich that is made of fresh fish or meat with fixings on top of a piece of rye bread. It is available everywhere, from food stands to high-end restaurants.

Why Book Flights to Denmark

There are many reasons why you should book flights to Denmark and spend your holiday in the country. More often than not, Denmark is overshadowed by its neighbours Sweden and Norway when it comes to attracting tourists. However, there are plenty of reasons why you should include Denmark as part of your European holiday.

Legoland Resort in Billund

Another reason to book flights to Denmark is the Legoland Resort in Billund. Since it opened its doors to the public in 1968, millions of people have visited the tourist destination. It has lots of attractions that include a waterpark, rollercoasters, sea life centre, and the model village. It is the first Legoland in the world, and it continues to entertain visitors both young and old.

Historic Architecture

Most of the Danish architecture is modern, but there are plenty of well-preserved castles, mansions, and buildings that date back hundreds of years in the past. And most of them are free to visit. In Copenhagen and other big cities, you’ll find buildings and houses painted in various colours alongside 700-year-old cathedrals and churches.

These are the reasons why you should consider Denmark as your next holiday destination. It is recommended to book flights to Denmark early so that you will be able to get the best rates available.
