Five Unusual Hotels in Japan

  • July 25, 2016
  • admin

Most of us love Japan. This amazing and far away country is definitely unique and no like the other. It is also full of contrasts – on one corner you can find traditional and old temples and geishas walking around while on the same street you will find huge skyscrapers and robots serving your meals.

If you are planning a trip to Japan soon, you should also start looking to book hotels there. For that reason and for those looking for a little bit more of an unconventional type of stay,  we are sharing a list of five most unusual hotels scattered all around this country. We can bet, that a night spent in any one of these will be remembered forever.

Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel

If you are ok with just a tiny little space and all you are looking for a hotel is a bed to crash on – Shinjuku Kuyakusho-mae Capsule Hotel should be the one you start considering. This hotel was primarily designed for traveling businesspeople but nowadays it becomes one of the coolest and unusual tourists’ attractions as well. It is also a very budget-friendly traveling option too, so if you are counting every cent, this hotel might sound even better. However, there is one con here – the hotel is for men only, and you can meet up with a lot of drunk and tired businesspeople there.

Sukeroku No Yado Sadachiyo

We mentioned the contrasts of this country for a reason. And the reason is the hotel called Sukeroku No Yado Sadachiyo where traditions and modern living collide in a very unusual (at least for foreigners like us) way. Everyone who loves Japanese culture will love every minute spent here because the hotel not only offers an excellent bed for tourists but also hosts traditional Japanese dining with exceptional entertainment. So, without even leaving a hotel, you can see real geishas’ performances, sing karaoke and enjoy drinking sake while coming back to your hotel room to sit on a computerized toilet seat!

Komadori Sanso

If you would love to run away from the city and enjoy the beautiful nature and scenery of Japan, you should choose to stay at Komadori Sanso. It is a very secluded lodge high in the mountains, so to reach it might take a while and might need a bit of patience, but if you really want to escape from the modern world, this is the place you have to visit. Not only you can enjoy peace and quiet, but also gaze upon the most magical scenery and get a chance to learn how to meditate as a waterfall thumps down on you!

I-Cafe Akiba Place

Typically, internet cafes are designed for people who don’t have access to a computer and internet. That was kind of popular like 20 years ago while computers were expensive and not everyone was able to afford it. However, still to this day, the Japanese still have various I-cafes scattered all around the country, and it started to develop a little bit differently than we could think of. The I-Cafe Akiba Place is the best example of that. This internet café is also a very budget-friendly hotel, where gamers or people who to surf the internet can do that and don’t worry about spending too much time on that.

Super Hotel Ikebukuro

Super, in the hotel named Super Hotel Ikebukuro indeed means that! Here you can enjoy being super taken care, sleeping on super comfortable beds, and enjoy super services you will never forget. Here, everything is designed to make you feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible – even the slippers you will be given are scientifically created to increase comfort and relieve stress. The best part is that it is not that expensive to enjoy such super hotel features – so everyone can feel super here!
