Christmas is nearly here. Soon you’ll be waking up on Christmas day and unwrapping your gifts in the living room with the family. You have done your Christmas shopping already haven’t you? No. Well don’t panic. Take a trip to Bristol this December and you’ll find every gift you could ever imagine on offer.
Of course Bristol’s a big place, so a Christmas shopping trip could end up in a big mess if you don’t know where to look for the best choices. So here’s a Bristol Christmas shopping guide to make sure your visit doesn’t end up a wasted one.
- Bristol German Christmas Market. German-style Christmas markets are all the rage at the moment, popping up all over the country in December. Bristol has one of the finest on offer, which is now in its fifth year. It’s located in Broadmead and is open 7 days a week up until the 22nd of December. You’ll probably find a present for every member of the family here. It’s basically a one-stop Christmas shopping experience. The atmosphere created by the huddle of wooden huts and Christmas lights is magical and there is also plenty of food and drink on offer, as well as music and entertainment. A great choice for a night out with the family.
- Santa’s Grotto. If you’ve got the kids in tow be sure to drop by Santa’s Grotto at the Galleries shopping centre. They can tell Santa exactly what they want for Christmas (giving you some ideas for last minute purchases) and they’ll get a free gift too.
- The Mall At Cribb’s Causeway. This is one of Bristol’s premier shopping locations, and at Christmas time they pull out all the stops. Not only can you browse through the dozens and dozens of shops, from the Disney Store to Hugo Boss, to find those perfect presents, but The Mall also puts on special events over the festive period. This year The Mall will be home to the largest outdoor ice rink in the South West, so you can have a little fun doing your best Torvill and Dean in between purchases. There is also the opportunity to meet Santa at his magical ice castle, along with a special Christmas train ride for the kiddies.
- Bristol Local Christmas Market. If you want to support local Bristol traders be sure to visit the Bristol Local Christmas Market. Here you’ll find stalls full of local produce, from cheese and beer to candles and Bristol Blue Glass. There is a full programme of workshops, events and activities for all ages planned, so drop by and join in the festive fun.
