There has been positive news from the Colombia Tourist Board regarding their latest tourism figures. The latest figures confirm that over 1.2 million tourists visited the country during 2008 which represents a 2.5% increase in visitors when compared to 2007.
The data doesn’t include over 230,000 additional visitors from the cruise ships that docked on Colombia’s Caribbean coast. The number of cruise passengers stopping at Colombia has almost doubled in a year.
Colombia is clearly shaking off its previous troubles and has recently been hotly tipped by top travel journalists to become a must-visit adventure holiday destination in 2009 and 2010.
