The village of Lacock is a 200-year-old Saxon village that is one that has to be seen to be believed. This quintessentially English town is the perfect village with quaint stone cottages, the old workhouse and the village church, all of which date back a number of years. With its famous streets featuring in Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice and films such as Harry Potter. In addition to this, this is the hometown of famous stars Joe and Zoe Sugg, known as ThatcherJoe and Zoella on Youtube who has been seen visiting here in a number of there Youtube videos across both channels.
Woking, Surrey
Another English town for you to visit for the perfect short break in Woking. With a number of locations for you to explore such as Pyrford Lock, Brookwood Cemetery and the Lightbox theatre, this is the perfect location for the whole family to enjoy. Whether you decide to drive to a B&B or you rely on the local Woking taxi service to get you around, you are sure to have the perfect relaxing break when visiting this area for a short weekend break.
Port Sunlight, Merseyside
Built at the end of the 19th century this quintessential English town is one with something for everyone. With local parks, amazing architecture and a museum for you to visit you can relax and unwind in one of these B&Bs and take a stroll along Dibbinsdale Brook and some of the local parks, allowing you to enjoy the best of the English weather. Should it take a turn to the worst there is also a local shopping centre for you to enjoy with popular high street stores such as Odeon, Frankie and Bennies and Curry’s PC World and even grab a bite to eat?
Corfe Castle, Dorset
The village of Corfe that surrounds the remains of Corfe Castle is one that has truly stood the test of time With burial mounds dating as far back as 6000 BC as well as evidence of life here during Celtic, Roman, Norman, medieval and the time of the civil war. With an extremely rich history and a castle stood upon the natural passing point between the north and south of the Purbeck hills, this is one of the most beautiful locations in all of the UK that is one you need to visit.
However, this castle was to meet its end after a series of sieges that took place in 1643-46 with the parliamentarians broke into the castle and destroyed it as a sign of strength. The castle ruins now remain on top of this hill, under the ownership of the national trust making for a great day out for the whole family.
