When you are exploring the world or even traveling in a small town you certainly want to keep in contact with your set of people.

Before you leave for a long vacation or short business trip, your family and friends often tell you to keep in touch. In the earlier times people could hardly keep in touch due to costly methods.

But the advance technology has introduced inexpensive and multiple options to contact people across the world.

Write Letters
It has always been exciting to send and receive letters. It creates a feeling of closeness between two people. Writing letters or sending photographs could be a great way to tell your loved ones what’s going on around you. You can begin your letter by enquiring about the opposite person and then talking about your experience. Reading a letter can never be boring as you have many elements to add such as phrases, jokes, smiley faces, stickers, drawings, quotes, etc. Just pen down what’s on mind and your loved one is sure to understand your concern.

Phone Calls
These days we hear people saying, “I’m just a phone call away” and it’s true! You have many calling services offering you the benefit of international calling guide. So simply choose a service and call anyone across the globe at a minimal price. Hearing the voice of a loved one and sharing your stories could make you feel better. A phone call can even help to combat loneliness. So it’s always better to choose a cheap and simple method to keep in touch while you travel.

Online Technology

E-mailing your family and friends is again a great and cheap method to stay in touch. You can use Gtalk/Video, MSN or AIM chat depending on the messenger service installed at both ends. Various online services even allow you to make free international calls between various countries. So make sure you have a PC or Laptop and an internet connection with you when you are away from home.

Social media is better options that mails and chat. You can view regular updates and can post the same such as notes, pictures, videos, stories, etc.
