Why You Need to Prepare For Your Business Trip to Seattle

Do you wish you had more time to prepare for your trip to Seattle? Are you forgetting anything important? Most professionals have this last minute question mind when flying out on a work trip. If you’re a professional reading this, allow yourself ample time to prepare for your next business trip. Prepare for your business trip in advance, so you won’t be rushing out the door or leaving anything important behind.

Frequent Flier Program

Whether you’re planning your first or hundredth business trip to Seattle, you should probably take advantage of a frequent flier program. If you’re someone who has to go on a business trip every two weeks, then you definitely should join a frequent flier program of your favorite airline. A frequent flier program allows you to earn air miles, which you can redeem for future flights. You will also get preferential consideration for perks and upgrades.

You’ll end up saving hundreds or thousands of dollars on your flights. There’s nothing better than getting a free flight every so often, especially if your organization doesn’t foot the bill for the business trip. You can easily get a free flight by earning and redeeming your air miles. If you don’t have a particular airline, join a frequent flier program with two or three airlines that you fly with the most.

Travel Insurance

You may also need travel insurance, even if you’re insured. You may have this included via the credit card used to book your travel. Check the terms and conditions for this information. Travel insurance is obviously useful for things like delays or cancellations, but it can also cover lost luggage or other things that cause you to lose money on travel.

Travel insurance can also help you out if you get sick or have an accident while traveling. You don’t want to end up getting sick or being part of an accident that requires you to spend most of your time in the emergency room and be out a lot of money on top of that.

Connectivity Options

A business trip doesn’t have to mean that you lose touch with your friends and family back at home. Consider your connectivity options before your flight. How do you plan to stay in touch with your loved ones during your trip? Purchasing a SIM instead of using your cell phone provider’s mobile data could save you a lot of money.

If you’re going to be in and out of places that could have Wi-fi or may not, then investing in a mobile hotspot will pay for itself ten times over.

You’ll want to book a room at a hotel with free Wi-Fi, like the Hyatt House Seattle/Bellevue or The Westin Bellevue. Making sure your hotel has good business accommodations like a business center with printer and well-appointed rooms with enough space and a desk in order to get some work done.

Travel Documents

Every now and then, business travelers end up losing their travel documents in the midst of their trip. Find out the requirements for travel documents before your trip. If you’re traveling internationally, make a paper and digital backup of all your documents. This could be handy even if you’re a domestic traveler. In case you lose them, you’ll have a backup. Some airlines and hotel chains will accept photocopies of your travel documents.

Keep all of your travel documents together in a document organizer. A document organizer keeps all of your documents as safe as possible. Some examples of travel documents include confirmations, itineraries, medical cards, passport, tickets, travel insurance policy, and list of prescription medication.
