Six forests of the planet that look like they came out of a fairy tale

  • June 19, 2018
  • admin

Some areas on the planet look as if they are so out of reality that they could be a natural cinema set for science fiction movies. Below there are  six forests that look like dream-made and are really worth going to.

The Dark Hedges, Ballymoney, Northern Ireland

One forest that actually stretches to left or to the right of the road and has a name that resembles a fiction novel. This forest creates a natural tunnel that looks like it leads to some mysterious adventure, with rows of beech trees creating something like a fence. The trees were planted there in the 18th century by a family that had its mansion there, but eventually led to this forest … fantasy. Game of Thrones enthusiasts may even recognize it, since Arya Stark has passed since the beginning of the second season.

Wistman Forest, Devon, England

This forest is located southwest of England, flooded with moss and greenery, and looks like it has not been visited for centuries. This is mainly due to the fact that on its territory there are plenty of boulders that make it difficult for people to cross it, even if they were not covered with moss. The trees that “spring up” between these boulders give an even more magical atmosphere in the forest.

Forest Gryfino, Poland

This strange Polish forest seems to have been spellbound, since the logs of all the trees are hooked. No one can say for sure why these trees have such … curves, but the most prevalent theory is that a farmer managed to “educate” them to grow up with this shape so that he could use them for furniture, something that never happened. Alternative theory: spells.

Komodo National Park

The Komodo National Park is a park located in Indonesia, the Nusa Tenggara Islands. This forest has been declared a World Heritage Site since 1991 by UNESCO. Of the most famous species of animals living on the islands, is the Komodo dragon. This species is the largest living lizard on the planet. If you happen to be in a Komodo island resort and visit the park, you will instantly feel like you are part of an adventurous fairytale.

Puzzlewood, Coleford, England

Puzzlewood of Gloucestershire is one of the most fabled forests and is believed to have inspired the “Lord of the Rings”, and even his name is special. It is a dense forest, with narrow paths, rocks covered with mosses and ancient trees, with dilapidated bridges and wooden passages, which surely leaves a sense of fairytale to anyone who sees it.

Zhangjiajie National Park, Zhangjiajie Shi, China

In Zhongjiajie National Forest Park, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a surrealistic picture of cone-shaped stone peaks, with green sprouting from each crack. On top of them there is forest, streams and canyons and if you’ve seen James Cameron’s “Avatar”, you will understand where parts of the planet Pandora were inspired. One of the cone hills of the park has indeed been renamed “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain”.

Avenue of Baobab, Morondava, Madagascar

Those who have read Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “Little Prince” have certainly known about these very particular trees, most of which are native to Madagascar. There they have their own “avenue”, a street with swabs right and left, which looks unreal. Many of the trees in the area are over 800 years old and look like they have been planted in an alien ecosystem.

Give yourself the chance to be at one of the above places on earth. You will feel blessed and really lucky for having that opportunity. Especially if you are a parent, take your kids with you in order to live this amazing experience.
