Three Reasons to Plan an RV Adventure in Utah

  • October 25, 2017
  • admin

If you’re looking for the perfect adventure that the whole family can enjoy that is unique, exciting, and fun, then the answer is simple – that’s an RV trip in Utah. Utah was chosen by Fodor’s Travel Guidebooks as their top pick for travel in 2016, which has resulted in plenty of well-deserved interest in the state. Not only is the state itself spectacular and filled with wonder, there is also no better way to enjoy it and really experience it than by an RV.

So, if you’re wondering if an RV tour through Utah is right for you, here’s a look at the top five reasons it’s such a stand-out trip.

Plenty of RV Parks to Discover

A big part of the allure and adventure in RV’ing is being able to stay in different places all along the way. Utah has a number of incredible RV parks to discover including the RV park in St. George, Utah called McArthur’s Temple View RV Resort. This park is just 90 minutes north of Las Vegas and features more than 260 sites, all with full hook-ups. The southwest corner of the state is one of the most popular places for tourists to visit thanks to its incredible natural scenery and the year-round favorable climate.

As an added tip, it’s a good idea to book your spot in advance as RV parks in Utah tend to fill up rather quickly. There really doesn’t seem to be a slow season here.

Explore Little Known Areas of the State

When you travel in an RV you have the flexibility and freedom to build your own trip. You can create a customized route that takes you to the lesser known areas of the state. These hidden gems include such things as Spiral Jetty, Great Salt Lake. Depending on the time of year and the weather and water conditions, you may be lucky enough to see the Spiral Jetty. During high tide, the area is covered by water but when the water retreats you’ll be able to see a 15 foot wide and 1,500 foot long jetty that is made of 6,000 tons worth of black basalt rock. The jetty was created back in 1970 by Robert Smithson, a sculptor.

For those with a love of history, the Newspaper Rock State Historic Monument is an absolute must-see. Here you’ll be able to view 2,000 year old petroglyphs that were carved by Navajo, Fremont, Pueblo, and Anasazi people.

With an RV adventure you don’t have to stick to a set itinerary either. If something catches your eye along the way, you can just pull over and explore.

Travel through the State Cheaper

The final reason Utah is so perfect for RV’ing is that it gives people a chance to travel through the state at a much cheaper price. If you own your RV, you will pay a fraction of the cost at the RV parks versus staying in hotels along the way.

Makes for a Memorable Journey

There is no doubt about it that traveling through Utah by RV is not only fun and exciting, but it’s also a cost-effective way to explore the state.
