What is on the menu for restaurants in Keswick

  • December 15, 2015

One of the great things about Keswick is the respite which so many visitors feel when they escape here. For residents it’s their everyday but for visitors there is so much to do and also plenty of places to relax in. One of the main attractions is the newly renovated Square Hotel in Keswick. As one of the premiere accommodations in Keswick this is the perfect spot to just kick back and relax.

Of course when you are staying in Keswick the first question many people may have is what’s on the menu in Keswick? Luckily for visitors who have found the Square Hotel on their weekend break in Keswick there is a restaurant right here! The Brossen Steakhouse is newly opened and people have been raving about it since it’s first opening.

Nibbles & Appetisers: The full menu on display here starts out obviously with the first courses.

  • Nibbles: If you just want to have something small with some cocktails, the nibbles menu may be for you. Marinated Kalamata Olives, Chili & Coriander Cashews, Pork Scratchings with spice dust and Brossen Homemade Bread with salted butter, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar are first on the approach.
  • Appetisers: If you need something more substantial you can’t beat the menu offerings from the starting menu. Slow cooked pigs cheeks with potato cake, carrot and white bean puree is one of the menu stars. A proper scotch egg which is soft boiled and comes with pork, mango & stilton sausage may take an extra couple of minutes but is well worth the wait. Home cured salmon fillet and the soup of the day are just some of the other offerings on the starter menu.

Main & Grill: The main course menu is also pretty special.

  • Mains: Chargrilled venison haunch, pan-fried sea bass, slow cooked belly pork and a mixed bean burger are just some of the fare which flies out of the main course kitchen at Brossen Steakhouse. The Brossen burger, steak and blue cheese salad, and grilled lemon sole fillets help to round out the menu .
  • Grill: Face it most people who come to a steakhouse want to enjoy the steaks. The steaks at Brossen are dry aged a minimum of 28 days to extract the full flavor. Off the bone you have 8 oz. Rib-eye, Brossen Oak Smoked Rump Steak, 6oz Fillet, and Flat Iron Steak marinated in Brossen’s Chimichurri and checking in at an impressive 9oz. There is also 16 oz. T-Bone Steak, Half Roasted Chicken, and Maple Cured Pork Chops all on the bone. There are also steaks to share of those who don’t have the full appetite.

Dessert: If you can even think about dessert at this point in the meal you are a braver soul than most. Some of your options include things like Baked Duck Egg Custard, Bailey’s and Peanut Butter Cheesecake, Toffee Crisp, Iced Pear Parfait, Sticky Stout Pudding, and Taste of Eden Ice Cream and Sorbet.

In order to more fully appreciate what’s on the menu for restaurants in Keswick, the trip must be made. So get going! Come on out and enjoy this amazing hotel in Keswick –Inn On The Square –and enjoy the amazing steakhouse in Keswick to boot! You may discover that you love it here so much that you may never want to leave!
