The BRITS Festival, Tignes
Music festivals are usually held in fields of green, tough mud or nestled in-between golden sandy beaches, but let’s be honest, it’s not very often that you see a music festival held in the snow. Forget watching world renowned skiers and snowboarders from the comfort of your television set. In March 2014 you can witness one of the world’s best ski sport events at just a few feet away from the action. Join over 100,000 other spectators as they watch future ski history unfold with their very own eyes.
The name of the game is competitions and there’s a large variety on offer, from women’s skiing super pipes to men’s freestyle skateboarding. The X games is at the very core of extreme sports with top international athletes such as Shaun White competing for victory titles.
It’s certainly enough to get the adrenaline pumping and what better way to release this energy than by attending one of the various after-parties where you can dance the night away with like-minded people?!
Pas Rocks, Andorra
Ok, so strictly speaking Pas Rocks isn’t in France, but it’s only a hop, skip and jump over the border so we thought it deserved a mention. Irish skiers, this one is for you – Pas Rocks is a week-long event in celebration of St Patricks Day and promises to be the place to be during March. Spend your days skiing and boarding on the slopes, before freshening up to party with Ibiza DJ’s during the Hed Kandi club nights. With rumours of discounted alcohol up for grabs plus quiz and meal nights, this annual event is not to be missed.
European Snow Pride, Tignes
Europeans need little excuse to party, but just in case you needed persuading The European Snow Gay Pride event offers panoramic views, back to back skiing, lagoon swimming, cultural events galore and of course the best parties since 1999! Held in Tignes which also hosts the X games and The BRITS festival, the town is famed for its world class ski resorts, thriving ski community and vibrant youth culture.
