Since then, the destination attracts many in anticipation of experiencing the excitement of the fight between man and beast. Depending on gender and species, adult marlins range in weight from 350 to well over 1,000 pounds. Lengths span from 10 to over 13 feet.

This member of the carp family can grow as long as nine feet, with flashing scales that resemble solid gold. One of the mahseer’s favourite haunts is the Ramganga River, where a record-breaking 76-pounder was taken only a few years ago.
