Located in Southeast Asia, the complex and expansive Mekong River ranks as one of the longest water systems in the world. One of the mahseer’s favourite haunts is the Ramganga River, where a record-breaking 76-pounder was taken only a few years ago.

Experts will tell you that the Dorado is a fantastic fighting game fish that swims upstream as well as a salmon and is also as predatory and ferocious as a tiger shark. It violently pounds flies and fishing lures, and then jumps from the water in unbelievable leaps and virtual cartwheels, which is quite a sight to behold.

Known as “The Land of Fire and Ice” because of its vast glaciers that cover a large area of volcanic activity, Iceland is home to many fish and is a dream come true for anglers.
