The cradle of all Western civilisation, Greece has long been favoured as one of the most beautiful and desirable yachting hotspots in the Mediterranean. Boasting more than 6,000 islands and islets, a balmy, pleasant climate and key historical significance that stretches back thousands of years, there are not many countries that offer a yachting experience as culturally rich, diverse and luxurious as Greece. Greece offers something for all ages and preferences, from ancient ruins and medieval fortresses to charming whitewashed villages and mesmerising beaches, to the freshest seafood and exciting party hubs. The Cyclades, Ionian, and Dodecanese island chains are among the most popular charter routes, offering celebrated hotspots and secluded gems — all best discovered by yacht charter. Here, we share our ideal charter itinerary for enjoying the best Greece has to offer this summer, combining iconic stops with lesser-known escapes for a truly memorable journey.
Day 1: Athens to Kea
We recommend that you begin your Greece yacht charter in Athens. Before embarking, spend some time early in the morning exploring the beauty of the Acropolis or wandering through the vibrant Plaka district. Once you’ve boarded, your captain will cruise towards Kea, the closest Cycladic island to the mainland. Best known for its oak forests, hiking trails, and the ancient Lion of Kea sculpture, the island offers a quiet, authentic start to your Greek yacht charter. Berth in the Vourkari harbour for a taste of the local cuisine at one of the waterfront tavernas before enjoying a nightcap on the deck of your charter yacht as the stars come out.
Day 2: Kea to Mykonos, via Syros
Wake up and enjoy a lazy morning swim by one of Kea’s hidden coves before cruising east to the island of Syros. The most populated island in the Cyclades, its capital, Ermoupoli, is home to elegant neoclassical architecture and the stunning Apollo Theatre. Explore the marble-paved streets before returning to your charter yacht to cruise onwards to Mykonos. Anchor near Psarou Beach or Ornos Bay and indulge in an evening of fine dining and sampling some of the lively nightlife in Mykonos Town. If time permits, visit the iconic windmills before having sunset cocktails at Little Venice.
Day 3: Mykonos to Paros
Cruise south in the early morning to Paros, an enchanting island celebrated for its laid-back vibe and traditional Greek atmosphere. Famous for its white marble, also known as Parian marble, visit the Byzantine church of Panagia Ekatontapiliani before heading to the quaint village of Naoussa, known for its lively marina and seafood tavernas. Spend the afternoon kitesurfing or snorkelling off Golden Beach before having a quiet night anchored in the calm waters of Piso Livadi or Kolymbithres Bay.
Day 4: Paros to Sifnos
From Paros cruise to Sifnos, a lesser-visited gem known for its traditional Cycladic architecture, hiking paths, and traditional cuisine, especially slow-cooked dishes. Anchor in Kamares Bay and head inland to the hilltop village of Apollonia, where cute alleyways and artisanal boutiques await. For beach lovers, a visit to Vathi and Platis Gialos is a must, boasting crystal clear turquoise waters and a tranquil environment. In the evening, we recommend dining at a family-run taverna serving local specialities such as chickpea croquettes and mastelo (a traditional method for slow-cooked lamb).
Day 5: Sifnos to Serifos, return to Athens
On the last day before landing in Athens, stop at the island of Serifos. Rugged and largely untouched, the island features dramatic cliffs, quiet bays, and the hilltop town of Chora, offering panoramic views over the Aegean. Swim in the serene waters off of Psili Ammos beach or hike to the island’s medieval ruins. After a delicious lunch on the deck of your charter yacht, begin your cruise back to the mainland, arriving in Athens by late afternoon.
