Five UK Destinations Perfect For A Stress Free Break

  • March 25, 2024
  • Robert

The UK has long been a destination for tourists across the world, as well as many destinations being hotspots for Brits looking to getaway.

The country has so much to offer from beach breaks to peaceful countryside, vibrant cities to big nights out, with pubs and clubs allowing revellers to party until the early hours.

Of course, that’s not exactly for everyone. In fact, with more people suffering from alcohol addiction and giving up the substance, many people are moving away from the pub cities of London or Newcastle and looking for something entirely more relaxing in their breaks. Cities remain important destinations for foreign and local entrepreneurs who come here to open different types of companies.

Luckily, there are dozens of incredible spots across the UK offering stress free getaways, with our top five found below…

The Lake District

Of course, the Lake District is one of the most popular retreats for people wanting to enjoy the natural splendour of the country’s landscape. With stunning scenery, picturesque villages and tranquil lakes it’s a fabulous spot for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Perfect for people who enjoy hiking, there are so many trails to take up, while even those that don’t can enjoy the quaint villages, tea shops and gift stores right across the region.

The Cotswolds

For picture perfect Britain, the Cotswolds provides you with the postcard look of England with beautiful stone villages, rolling hills and meandering streams.

Villages like Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water provide ideal places to stay, with charming tearooms and restaurants and plenty of footpaths to get lost in and forget about the world around you. It’s a soul soothing destination that few places in the world can beat.

Isle of Skye

For people seeking something a little more remote, the Isle of Skye is a real haven for finding solace and silence in nature. There are some iconic landmarks on the island, such as the Old Man of Storr and Quitaing, which for many walkers are bucket list destinations.

Its wild beauty really will transport you to another world, forgetting that you’re even in Scotland!

The Norfolk Broads

The tranquil waterways of the Norfolk Broads are the perfect place to destress. Hiring a boat and slowly meandering along the canals is a really life-affirming experience, taking in the nature that sprouts along the banks, and the many birds and animals you can see along the way. If you’re looking for peace, you really do need to look no further.

St Ives

Finally, nestled along the rugged coast of Cornwall, St Ives is a picturesque fishing town that offers stunning beaches and plenty of incredible seafood.

Ideal for a summer getaway, you really can switch off when your toes find themselves in the sand, while there are plenty for the walkers too. The South West Coast Path is a trail where you can really appreciate the beauty of Cornwall and all it has to offer.

In fact, touring Cornwall can often be a be good option, with the likes of Padstow, Falmouth and Looe also great spots to enjoy a summer break in the county.
