4 reasons you should book a no-fly cruise

  • February 26, 2024

A no-fly cruise is an attractive option for people seeking a holiday without the hassle. It provides an increased level of convenience and keeps you relaxed ahead of your big adventure.

You can get them from most major ports around the country and travel with leading operators like P&O Cruises. And because they enable you to spend a bit more time in your departure port, you can essentially enjoy a mini city break before setting sail.

There are a number of other reasons to book a no-fly cruise too…

Escape the airport hassle

Fly cruises work like a standard package holiday; you’re flown to an airport nearer to the departure port and get a transfer to the ship. However, that adds a couple of extra layers of stress and requires a fair amount of travel before your cruise even begins.

Navigating busy airports, standing around in lengthy security queues, and enduring the cramped confines of an aeroplane cabin aren’t really things to get excited about. With a no-fly cruise, you can get picked up from home and taken to the port or drive there yourself and make use of the cruise line’s parking facilities.

Fewer restrictions

Getting a flight is wrought with limitations. You can only take a certain amount of luggage, your toiletries have to be in containers that are a maximum of 100ml and need to all fit in a single plastic bag, and then there are the additional charges for minor things like sitting together.

There’s no restriction on the amount of luggage you can have with a no-fly cruise, meaning you can pick up as many souvenirs as you like while on your travels.

Maximum relaxation

Travelling is one of the most stressful parts of a holiday, and a no-fly cruise takes a huge part of that out of the equation. Breaking free from the hassles of airports, long security lines, and cramped flights, embarking on a no-fly cruise offers a serene and stress-free journey from the moment you step aboard.

What could be more relaxing than knowing you’re already as close to your cruise ship as possible with a whole day to spare?

Great for kids

Travelling with kids can be tough – particularly babies and toddlers. Flying is often quite a scary experience for them too. And even if they’re OK with it, asking them to spend a significant amount of time sitting in their seat can be a major challenge.

With a no-fly cruise, they have the freedom to move around while aboard and there are numerous activities to keep them busy – and a lot of them don’t include a screen!
