The Best Itinerary in the South of Thailand

Thailand is an amazing Country, Especially its southern Part. In the South of Thailand you can find some of the best islands and beaches such as Phuket, Koh Samui, Krabi, Koh Lipe, and Many more. A great way to explore these destinations is by island hopping and staying for a couple of Nights of each destination to explore its best attractions and swim in its best sandy beaches. Many visitors even find themselves dreaming of living in Koh Samui, Phuket, or any paradise in Thailand after experiencing its unique charm. In this article we will be highlighting the best recommended Itinerary in the South of Thailand that covers the best spots that you should not miss when being there. 

Start from Phuket 

The best place to start your South of Thailand exploration is Phuket, and that’s due to many reasons. The main reason is its Airport. Phuket International Airport receives a big number of flights, both domestically and internationally. Therefore, If you are coming from overseas or from Bangkok, you will find many convenient flight options to Book and easily reach the island on the date that you want. 

It’s recommended to stay for at least 3 nights in Phuket to be able to cover the main highlights of the island. These resorts will allow you to experience luxury and comfort the During your stay with your partner.

During your stay in Phuket you can go for a boat trip to Phang Nga bay and explore the beauty of James Bond island, you can also embark in a city tour covering the island’s main highlights including Wat Chalong, the Big Buddha and the amazing viewpoints of Karon beach. 

Proceed to Phi Phi island

After enjoying your stay in Phuket and visiting the island’s main highlights, take a speedboat or a ferry boat from Phuket to Phi Phi island where you can stay in a nice beachfront resort for a couple of nights. During your stay at Phi phi island you can rent a private longtail boat to Phi Leh Lagoon, Enjoy snorkeling and relax by the beautiful sandy beach at your beachfront resort. 

Head to Krabi 

After staying for a couple of nights in the amazing Phi phi islands, take another speed boat from Phi Phi island to Krabi and stay there for 3 nights. Krabi is one of the most beautiful destinations in the South of Thailand where you can enjoy amazing activities such as Kayaking at Ao Thalane, visiting an ethical elephant sanctuary, and embark in thrilling adventures such as rock climbing and ATV Experiences. You can also Join a Boat trip heading to either Hong island or the Four islands near Krabi. These are the 2 most popular boat trips that operate from Krabi to its nearby islands. 

Drive to Khao Sok National Park 

After Enjoying your stay and embarking on the activities in Krabi, It’s time to experience the stay in one of the largest Thai National Parks. Drive for around 3 hours to Khao Sok National Park and stay in one of the elephant camps there for 2 or 3 Nights. During your stay, you can join some amazing activities such as Elephant Sanctuary experience, taking a longtail boat in the amazing Cheow Larn lake, and exploring the nature and the Wildlife in the region. 

Ending the trip or extending to the Gulf of Thailand

If you don’t have extra time for your trip after spending around 10 nights in the above amazing 4 destinations, then you can head to Phuket international airport in a Scenic 2 and half hours drive from Khao Sok to Fly back to your Country. 

If you can extend your holiday and stay for 3 or 4 extra days, then it’s highly recommended to extend your stay in one of the beautiful islands in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Samui, Koh Tao or Koh Phangan. 

The closest one to Khao Sok National Park is Koh Samui, you will need to drive for around 1 and half hours to Donsak pier, where you can board a ferry boat heading directly to Samui island in about 2 hours sailing. 

During your stay in Koh Samui, you can relax in one of the beautiful beachfront resorts or join one of the boat trips heading to the most beautiful islands in the region including Koh Tao and Koh Nangyuan, Koh Phangan or Angthong National Marine Park.
