Need Carry-On luggage? Factors to Consider when Purchasing One

When you are shopping for carry-on luggage, there are several things you must consider. You do not want to buy something blindly and then end up regretting your purchase. Also, since most carry-on luggage will be required for traveling, it is important you familiarize yourself with the weight and size rules of popular airlines. Usually, size will vary by the airline; therefore, remember to dig deeper into the airline’s requirements once you have identified an ideal option. Some of the common factors to consider for all carry-on bags include the following:

Zipper Quality

Generally, zippers are prone to breakage, which can be inconvenient when you are far away from home. Consider durable plastic or metal zipper chains rather than coil zippers. Some brands will provide you with self-repairing zippers which guarantee efficiency. You simply need to move the zipper and pull it over the region where the teeth have separated, and they will reseal.

Further, when looking for water-resistant rolling carry-on bags, be sure to check the zipper. This is important because it might act as a weak spot allowing water to enter the bag.

Handle Comfort

The pivoting alternatives for carry-ons do involve not only wheels but also the handle. Some carry-on manufacturers will offer holds in two or one-bar construction. Others will be availed in rotating handles which help prevent wrist or hand strain. If you are health conscious, this is the best option to take.

Hard Shell or Soft Shell

Regardless of the purchase you are making, it is always best to prioritize the basic principle of ensuring you get value for your money, whether hard or soft shell, your carry-on should be durable.

Luggage comprised of high-tech materials is more resistant to tear and wear. Unlike before, a hard shell carry-on is now lightweight. It is manufactured from materials such as polycarbonate, which is highly resistant to cracking. Some hard shell luggage will even include easy zip designs which open front pockets creating convenience for last-minute items like electronics. However, hard shell luggage may not be the best fit for aircraft as they include less give when loaded onboard.

Wheel Maneuverability

A 360-degree spinner wheel is a must for any traveler. This helps you avoid the awkward moments where your bag topples when maneuvering through crowds or making turns. Additionally, a four-wheeled spinner luggage will allow you to turn your luggage sideways for those narrow airplane aisles while exiting or boarding.

However, these wheels tend to stick out compared to traditional rollers. Therefore, they may break if mishandled. Take good care of your carry-on luggage even though it might be from the best brand and of the best quality. This will allow it to serve you for an even more extended period. You can make your traveling experience even much better and more memorable by having the right rolling carry-on bag from Monos. This brand manufactures premium travel suitcases designed in Canada for cabin luggage. Thus, you can always ensure your crucial belongings are safe and on hand.
