  • October 25, 2021
  • Jules

The UK is a vast and beautiful place with so many great destinations to explore. From natural wonders to iconic attractions, there’s something for everyone. Visitors can experience nature at its most pristine by visiting the Lake District, rolling hills of Scotland, and the dramatic coastlines of Cornwall. History buffs can take in some incredible relics such as Stonehenge, the Tower of London, and Edinburgh Castle.

Here’s top three day trip and weekend destinations in the UK and abroad:

Edinburgh, Scotland

The capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, is the place to go for any visitor looking for a mix of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, medieval castles, and cultural events. The first thing you’ll notice upon arriving in the city is the incredible beauty of its skyline. Equally stunning are the city’s expansive gardens and rolling hillsides.

Edinburgh is also home to ancient stone structures like Rosslyn Chapel and Glamis Castle. It’s not just the scenery that makes this city special.

Edinburgh is home to some incredible sites and attractions as well as the famous Royal Mile. This historic mile runs from Edinburgh Castle down to Holyrood Palace and contains a plethora of pubs, museums, shops and restaurants that make it an amazing place for visitors. Visit Arthur’s Seat, which is a volcanic plug that rises above the city and offers amazing views of Edinburgh.

For shopping, The Royal Mile contains many high-end stores including Burberry, Armani, Hugo Boss and Louis Vuitton. If you’re craving an afternoon tea experience, take a break at one of the many restaurants along the mile.

North York Moors, England

The North York Moors are a range of hills that span across the northeastern section of England. They are regarded as one of the most beautiful landscapes in the country. This area is home to many archeological sites, tourism destinations, and hiking routes.

There is also lots of wildlife here, which makes it a major attraction for birdwatchers and hikers alike. The North York Moors have appealed to people for millennia and remain popular among nature-lovers and history enthusiasts alike.

This area in northern England has some incredible landscapes and beautiful vistas for visitors. Head to Whitby, a historic fishing town that is home to many shops, restaurants and pubs. Nearby you can visit Robin Hood’s Bay which was the inspiration for the story of Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest. The North York Moors also have amazing hiking trails so be sure to bring your walking boots.

Dublin, Ireland

Dublin is the capital of Ireland. The city is divided into four main districts: North, South, East, West. Dublin City Centre is located in the North District. It includes the River Liffey and Grand Canal, which are both used for pleasure boat rides and commuting to work or school. Dublin’s buildings run the gamut from historic Georgian architecture to modern skyscrapers.

Dublin is a popular destination for tourists due to its beautiful architecture and historical sites, such as Trinity College, which houses the Book of Kells, a medieval manuscript containing four Gospels from the 9th century.

The city is home to Guinness Storehouse, a museum dedicated to one of Ireland’s favorite libations that has been around since 1759.
