What are the best ways to make money while travelling abroad?

Travelling can be an expensive endeavour, especially if you are jumping from country to country. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to make money while travelling. You can get a part-time job, start freelancing from your laptop or teach a language. Look at your skill set and experience to find the best route for you.

Here are few ways you can make money while travelling around the world.

Create a blog

If you’re an avid writer, you could start a blog to document your journey so far. Write about your experiences in new places, living in hostels and meeting people from around the globe. The chances are you will have plenty of stories to tell from your adventures. You can use affiliate links to earn some cash from your blog. There are plenty of affiliate marketing sites online. Every time someone buys a product or service from a link on your blog, you will receive a small fee. It’s not a lot of money, but it’s a great way to have some extra cash in your pocket.

Restaurant and bar work

You could stay in one location for a few months and get a job as a waitress or bartender. Earn some cash to cover your rent and living expenses, and save the rest for future travels. Slow travel can help you save money over time and reduce your carbon footprint. You can meet other travellers also working there and enjoy your days off together.

Forex trading

Make some additional money through forex trading with nothing but a mobile phone. You can travel light while earning cash and funding your wild adventures.

Work at your hostel

If you are staying in a hotel, you can usually get a job cleaning and covering maintenance jobs. In exchange, they will let you stay in the hostel for free, so you don’t have to pay huge amounts in rent. This is perfect if you are staying somewhere for a month and need to save money. You can work a couple of days a week and spend the rest of your time relaxing.

Freelance!

You can use your skills in graphic design, copywriting or social media to earn money. Start a small freelance business while you’re away to earn some extra cash. You can work on your career while away travelling and return home with some money in the bank.

Earn a little extra money while you’re travelling, so you don’t have to return home early.
