Helpful Tips Before Going To Beach Resorts In Jaco Beach, Costa Rica

  • July 6, 2021
  • Jules

Let’s admit it; we all miss a fun time at a beach. Imagine basking under the sun, playing beach volleyball with friends, or swimming with your siblings or relatives. We all want that feeling of relaxation and “living in the moment,” especially during these trying times.

But unfortunately for us, many beach resorts closed down due to the global pandemic. This is a sad reality for beach-goers who always look forward to enjoying the sand and sun during summer. If you are one of those who feel a bit disappointed about how you’re going to have to spend summer this year, turn that frown upside down as I announce some great news for you!

Now that businesses are adjusting to the “new normal,” countless beach resorts are reopening! But wouldn’t it still be dangerous? Yes, and that is why you need to take note of these tips below before heading to the beaches!

4 Tips Before Going To A Beach Resort

These tips are focused on your safety while having fun this summertime! After all, we all want to go beaching to relax and not worry about additional problems. These tips can help you prepare for what is to come, so pay close attention!

  1. Check Their Website

While most beach resort websites are full of promoting their facilities, events, and other features, they can give you some clue on what to expect. For example, staff enforcing protocols would always tell people to follow social distancing. The resort might also have built facilities for safety measures like a quarantine tent for any emergency.

Another thing to check is if they are only handling reservations. Controlling the spread of the virus and providing a safe place for customers and staff is the topmost priority of businesses (read more) nowadays. It is no surprise if they only accept reservations, for the reason that they need to control the number of people in the resort. It is the best way to monitor the beach-goers too!

  1. Plan Your Stay

Planning to stay does not only involve how long you would be there; it also involves where you should stay. Many beach resorts have beachside hotels for clients to stay overnight. If you are planning to stay for days, choose the room that you think is the safest. For example, a hotel room that is some feet apart from the neighbors. Social distancing is maintained that way!

Also, check if the hotel staff regularly cleans the place like hallways, elevators, or lobbies. These places are passed by different people coming and going. Keeping these places clean is the best way to prevent the spread of the virus and other infections.

As to how long you should stay, that entirely depends on you as long as you are prepared to protect yourself. I would recommend staying less than a week though, the less exposure to other people, the fewer chances of contracting the disease.

  1. Know Their Safety Protocols

The safety protocols in companies are posted on their website. Many of these companies may or may not have the same rules and regulations, but they all have the same safety protocols. If you find no written safety protocols on their website, try to search them on internet browsers.

Typically, the public is required to use masks and distance themselves away from each other. But when swimming, you can take off your facemask (link: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/beaches-pools.html) while still swimming several feet away from other people. Note and follow each protocol. After all, it is all for you and the people around you.

  1. Check For Recent Incidents

Incidents such as multiple beach-goers were confirmed positive of the virus after spending time at a particular resort. That is a big red flag. It reflects how the management enforces their safety protocols among their clients. The information may not be present on their website- you have to dig into recent news.

4 Tips On Choosing The Best Beach Resort For You!

Jacó, Costa Rica is known for having black sand beaches that surfers love to swim in and try out their sweet tricks. Many beach resorts in Jaco Beach are still open, and some are planning to reopen soon. So, are you excited about going to the beach? Hold your horses because you need to choose which resort you should go to first! Here are some things you need to look at to find the best resort for you:

  1. A Reasonable Price!

Beach resorts are not always cheap, so that is why you need to look for something worth your money. Checking their website would only give you some excitement and would not provide you with the negative aspect of the resort. So what should you do? Well, you need to read the reviews. The review will primarily give you the idea visitors experienced in that particular resort.

If you are on a budget, still the same concept, you read reviews. Choose the best one that not only suits your taste but belongs to the price range you are looking for. There should be enough resorts you can check (with their price), search through the internet!

  1. Check Their Facilities

If you are looking for fun outside the beach, some resorts can offer up facilities. There are beach resorts that have events and even have facilities for leisure activities. But if you are looking for a place to dine, most resorts have what you need.

  1. Beachfront Hotels

If you are looking for a room with an ocean view, luxury beach resorts have hotels specifically for that! Not only can you stay there overnight, but you can also enjoy the breathtaking scene, room services, and amenities. Cheaper resorts do not have this luxury, but there are hotels where you can stay and still enjoy the view!

  1. A Secured Place For Your Belongings

When you are out having fun on the beach, someone might try to steal your belongings. Of course, we do not want that, so security is essential in these kinds of situations. Look for beach resorts with security cameras almost everywhere and guards roaming around.
