Domestic Tourism Ideas For Travel Vloggers

  • March 16, 2021
  • Jules

Travel vloggers around the world have been facing closed borders ever since the COVID-19 pandemic started. While tourists worldwide have been able to deal with the problem, travel vloggers often rely on their content as a source of income. Domestic tourism is on the rise in every country, especially now. Travel vloggers should not ignore this trend, but instead, embrace tourism within their own countries.

For amateur and experienced travel vloggers, using SubscriberZ boosts your social media presence, allowing you to earn more while traveling domestically. These are our ideas for domestic travel in 2021.

Exploring History

Many people often ignore the history of their nations thinking that they have already learned everything they need to know at school. But history doesn’t need to be boring, nor does it have to be information dense. Every country in the world has a rich history to boast of, and there are surely many museums and other historical landmarks that you can travel to. There are at least two benefits of exploring your country’s history:

  • You will attract a new group of viewers: history buffs. If your vlog did not already focus on history in your travels, you will be adding to your existing audience people who aren’t necessarily interested in travel. Regardless, you will benefit from their views as of any other viewer.
  • Being out of your comfort zone will likely help you get more creative with your content, likely allowing you to appeal to a wider audience.

Get Out Of The City

Many people travel from city to city, never leaving the comforts of paved roads to more rural areas. City dwellers that are used to traveling to faraway destination countries will be surprised to know that more often than not, the same village lifestyle is available within their countries. If you already live in a country that is considered a “tourist” destination, get out of the touristy areas, you may find that the off-road areas of your country are well worth your time, and you will be promoting your local economy for when the borders finally do open!

Visit Other Regions

Travel vlogging is often about your honest first time experience of a new country. When traveling domestically, you may find that your lack of enthusiasm shows in your videos and discourages viewers from continuing. Needless to say, the last thing you want to do is lose your viewership.

Visiting a region that is different than the one you live in might prove to be an exciting trip for you, and allow you to create content with the same level of enthusiasm you would have shown for tourism in another country. Especially in larger countries, regional cultures may be starkly different. There may be evidence suggesting regional differences in personality.

So go to the faraway regions of your country. Don’t hesitate to taste their food, find the differences in their language (or dialect), meet some new people. Do anything and everything to make the most of visiting other regions within your country.

Conclusion

Border closures shouldn’t have to be the end of tourism as a whole, and it won’t be the end of travel vlogging either. The diversity of people within a country, and rich history, is a great source of domestic tourism that should not be ignored. Travel vloggers can find a multitude of content inspiring travels within their borders that can be exciting, unique, and new for them and their viewers. So go ahead and discover the parts of your nation you didn’t think to explore before and embrace your country’s local tourism instead of running to faraway destinations.
