While New York is reopening again, visitors are being welcomed again in both the city and in its famous attractions. There’s so much to do, yet how do you begin with exploring such an endless city? Start by purchasing a New York discount pass, it could save you time and money when visiting the top 10 attractions. Exploring on foot is a great way to see the city, looking up at the soaring skyscrapers is mesmerising (if not a little hard on the neck) and gives you that real ‘New York feeling’. However, if you want to see the Big Apple from a different perspective, you can find some suggestions below. - Land
If you’d like to take the weight off your feet, consider the Hop on Hop off bus as a handy alternative. There are several, different providers but all offer a variety of routes. These buses stop regularly at various tourist spots, you can simply choose to hop on or off at any point. During the ride, the guide will tell you all kinds of information about the attractions as you pass them. It’s a great option to familiarise yourself with the city and see the sights if it’s your first time in New York!
Do you prefer something a little more active? Rent a bike and get to know the city like a real New Yorker. Discover Central Park or cycle over the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Both options are available with the New York Pass, you can choose from over 100 attractions and activities with it. If you’re on a budget and you’d like a cheap way to get around, buy a MetroCard and hop on the subway. It’s one of the cheapest ways to explore the city. Regardless which way you get around, you’ll definitely see the sights.
- Water
Do you want to see the city while relaxing on the water? New York Circle Line Cruises offer multiple great options for sightseeing by boat. Every cruise will take you past the Manhattan skyline, while giving you great photo opportunities of the landmarks. Cruising on the water can be even more enjoyable if it also combines a nice meal.
Keep your camera ready because especially in the evening, the view of the illuminated New York skyline is not to be missed. A popular dinner cruise option is the Bateaux, as the boat has floor to ceiling windows so you get a great view from wherever you are sitting. During the cruise enjoy the view as you float past landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building.
- Sky
The sky’s the limit in New York City! There are lots of observation decks in New York, each one offering a brand new view of the city. Edge at Hudson Yards offers the highest outdoor observation deck, it offers a 360-degree view over New York. It’s a unique view in comparison to some of the more traditional observation decks in New York. If you’re looking to go even higher, take a helicopter tour (with or without doors) over the city and discover the famous landmarks of New York City by air. It’s a spectacular experience which shouldn’t be missed. Looking for something a little slower? Step on the Roosevelt Tram and enjoy an idyllic view of the East River.
