Turkey is a country that does not hold back when it comes to offering its tourists some of the world’s great sites. From mosques to the breathtaking skyline, Turkey is perfect in every sense. If Turkey is your holiday destination this year, you need to list the attractions you must see.

Read on to see what are the best places to see in Turkey and what do you need to prepare to cross the Turkish border.

Turkey e-Visa

Did you know you can get an e-Visa of Turkey without waiting to get an on arrival visa? Moreover, you may be subject to fines in countries like Turkey if you don’t get a visa before arrival because they offer a better alternative – e-visa.

Turkish e-Visa system Evisa.Express enables travellers from around the world to apply online for the Turkey e-Visa.

The application process takes just a few minutes to complete and can be done from home! The electronic visa permit arrives at the applicant’s e-mail address in a PDF form. Apply online to make your travel stress-free while the professionals handle your visa permit for you.

  1. Hagia Sophia

The list starts with Hagia Sophia, which is probably the most prominent tourist magnet in Turkey. Located in Istanbul, Hagia Sophie was built in the sixth century for Justinian I, an Eastern Roman Emperor.

It is described as the masterwork of Roman Engineering with a massive dome that was known as the largest enclosed space in the world for over 1000 years. In 1204, the fourth crusaders looted the church, and in the 15th century, it became a mosque. Today, it is one of the top attractions in Turkey.

  1. Gerome Fairy Chimneys

The Gerome Fairy Chimneys are located in Cappadocia, known for its unique rock formations and historical heritage. Gerome is a town that consists of the majority of these strange formations.

Scientists have described these formations as the result of water and wind erosion of two different volcanic layers. A thin layer of basalt covers a thin layer of tuff. Today, the Fairy Chimneys have been hollowed out to create churches, houses, and storage facilities.

  1. Library Of Celsus

West Coast is home to the ruins of Ephesus, which is a popular tourist attraction. The City of Ephesus was once famous for its Temple of Artemis. The Temple of Artemis was amongst the ancient world’s seven wonders until it was destroyed in 401 AD by Constantinople’s archbishop.

Some structures such as the Library of Celsus and the Great Theater still stand to this day. A reconstruction in the 1970s carefully brought together different original pieces to present it in a splendid state as we see it today.

  1. Pamukkale

In the Turkish language, Pamukkale means ‘Cotton Castle.’ Famous for its white terraces, the Pamukkale is an unreal landscape that attracts millions of tourists each year. The white decks are made from travertine, which is a sedimentary rock.

It is deposited by water and consists of a large number of minerals. For many years, the pools have been used by people for bathing. If you were to observe it from a distance, the Pamukkale looks artificial; such is the site’s beauty.

  1. Patara Beach

Patara Beach is amongst the longest beaches found in the Mediterranean. With a stretch of 14 kilometers, the Patara Beach mainly consists of Roman and ancient Lycian ruins in addition to a small café.

Furthermore, it is also home to the Loggerhead turtle, which is termed endangered. Without Patara Beach, the list of Turkey’s best attractions would be incomplete.

Conclusion

This article aimed to discuss the best Turkey attractions to see. Turkey is that one country where you will not fall short of remarkable landmarks to see and visit. From Hagia Sophia to Patara Beach, there is something for everyone.

Therefore, if you were to visit and experience the attractions outlined above, your Turkey expedition is going to be amongst the most memorable for years to come.
