Oman is one of the most visited destinations in the world. It was voted as one of the top destinations in 2018. Oman happens to be extraordinarily diverse, and getting there is not a difficult task either. Therefore, we are here to share an Oman Travel Guide to know and everything about Oman even before you get there. Let’s begin!

Get An e-Visa

We all know that getting a visa before the flight is better than a visa on arrival, which may also cost you more in some cases. Moreover, an e-visa is even more convenient as the application process is straightforward and can be done anywhere.

Visa to Oman – apply online to receive your visa permit at your e-mail address in a PDF version! Applying takes just a few minutes and can be done from home.

Where To Stay In Oman?

If you are visiting Oman, the only place worth staying is in Muscat. However, there are several other options as well if you were to step outside, but they are less valuable for money and limited. Hotels in Muscat tend to be comparatively expensive but good quality.

You should expect around $50 to $80 for a private double room in a mid-range hotel. Furthermore, Muscat is a very scattered city with several districts. Therefore, we would suggest staying in Muttrah.

Food In Oman

Oman is situated along the centuries old-spice routes. Therefore, most cuisines tend to influence North African, Persian, and Arab flavors. Moreover, Omani food is not suited to everyone’s taste and is expensive as well. So, if your taste buds fail to accept Omani foods, you will have to work with fast food.

Oman Travelling Cost

If you thought traveling to Oman was cheap, you are wrong. The traveling cost of Oman is nearly the same as in Western Europe. Although a significant budget has been spent on making Oman a tourism destination, sadly, it does not attract many tourists, hence the high-prices.

At the same time, accommodation is quite expensive as well. Therefore, if you are on a tight budget, Oman might not be a destination to visit.

What To Wear In Oman

Oman is a Muslim destination, and women are required to wear long-sleeved robes and dresses. Although there is no restriction about what you should wear, one has to respect their culture and dress conservatively.

Covering your hair is not necessary unless you wish to visit a mosque or any other sacred place. Furthermore, if you want to swim, wear a T-shirt as a part of your swimming costume.

Best Places To See In Oman

Wahiba Sands

The Wahiba Sands are located just a two-hour drive from Muscat. You will come across dunes that are as high as 100 meters with luxurious desert camps in the heart of the desert. Furthermore, you will also find a well-paved road that brings you close to these massive dunes.

Wadi Bani Khalid

Wadi Bani Khalid is one of the most easily accessible fresh spearmint water valleys in Oman. It features a cave and several natural pools that allow you to swim as well. A gorgeous canyon with splendid lounging areas will make your eyes pop too. You will find many restaurants and changing facilities here.

Final Words

Every destination has its negatives and positives, and Oman is no exception. It is a place that should be paid a visit regardless of how expensive it is.

The reason being that its hospitality, people, and splendid natural beauty will make up for it. Therefore, without further ado, book yourself a ticket and plan a once in a lifetime trip to Oman.
