How to Earn Money While Travelling

  • October 16, 2020

As everyone that has travelled or that wants to travel will tell you, it is expensive. The main reason that people or families do not go on holidays overseas is simply because it costs too much, and they can not afford to do it. For some, like me it is on my bucket list to travel but saving up the money can be a herculean task. However, what if there was a way in which you could make some money while you are on your travels?

In this little article we will have a look at just some of the ways you can earn that little bit of extra money while you are holidaying. It might just extend your holiday too because you can now afford to.

Why not start writing?

A good option is to become a writer and do freelance work. It is great because you can work anywhere you want, you can work the hours you want and in most cases as long as you have the internet you are set to go. You can choose to write online for blogs or even at companies that publish magazines who are looking for quality writers, but it will not blow the companies’ budget. It is easy work, and you can do it while you are on “holiday” to earn some extra cash. Some of the time you will not need any qualifications, you just need to know how to write and to get people’s attention.

Make a site online for your talents

Now writing might not be the thing for you but it does not end there. The internet is full of people selling things they make to earn a living. Whether it be clothes, shoes, sometimes even furniture, there is always a need for things. Plus having a site online to showcase your skills and products you can reach basically anyone in the world. Whatever your skill set might be, having an online site to show what you can do could be highly beneficial in earning you some extra cash as most people nowadays are online at least one a day, so you could make some good and easy money simply by putting yourself out there.

You could stay with foreign a family.

According to many travellers, becoming what they call an Au Pair is probably one of the best ways you can go. It basically gives you firsthand knowledge and experience of the country that you are staying in because you will be staying with a family from that country. You will have duties that you will have to undertake, things like looking after the host’s children if they have them, doing some housework to help around the house and other things. In return you will get a roof over your head, meals, and some pocket money so you can still get some of the daily essentials while you stay with them. By doing this you can make that extra money to go and see some extra sites with your friends but most importantly you will gain some new friends in your house family that you are staying with.

Lease your room out while your away

This is a great way to earn money while you are travelling around the world having the time of your life. If you live with someone and have a separate room, you can get someone else to move in and pay you to stay there, these are sometimes called an AirBnB. You will want to make sure that you provide your guest or guests with everything they need while they stay there. Like a nice, good quality mattress that you can get from Sleepify so they can sleep in comfort. Be sure to have your family or roommate to check in often to make sure you room is being looked after properly  because the last thing you want is to have your room get trashed while you half a world away on your travels.

So, there are just a few things you can do to earn some extra money while you are travelling.  Because let us face it, you do not want to be travelling and miss out on something that you have always wanted to do because you are on a budget. With these few tips you can enjoy everything the world has to offer and make some decent money in the process.
