6 Great RV Accessories You’ll Wish You Had Known About

  • June 12, 2020
  • admin

When the weather gets nicer and summer approaches, it can mean a lot of things for many people. Some like to go to the pool, some like to go for hikes and some like to go camping. While there are several different ways to camp, one of the best is in an RV. Sure, they can be more expensive than tenting or other methods of camping, but they provide an incredible experience.

But in order to get the most out of your RV, you need to have the right accessories. Sure, there are some common accessories you likely have, but there are also some helpful tools you wish you would have thought of. Without any further ado, let’s take a closer look at six great RV accessories you’ll wish you had known about for a long time.

Under-Glow Light System

Trying to set up, attach or take down your RV or camper in the dark can be very annoying. Sure, you can bring a flashlight, but trying to hold that while completely all of the necessary duties is not an easy time. Most of the work will require two hands, so using a flashlight will slow you down. Instead, consider getting an under-RV lighting system.

This lets you easily see everything under the RV from the water and electrical hookups, to other attachments and important components. Going to a website like boogeylights.com will give you  many options for lighting up your RV and making it much easier to see in the dark.

These lights will not only have an important function, but will also help your RV look incredibly unique. Many will support multiple different color options, allow you to dim, and even choose your own sequence for the lights.

Autoformer

When you are RVing, there is a chance that you will be using a lot of equipment. This ranges from a coffee maker, to a microwave and maybe even a TV. In order to protect these items from the potential of low voltage damage, it is a good idea to consider buying an autoformer.

These boost the voltage of your RV, as well as a surge protector. This allows you to run more devices and items, without potentially damaging them. It will monitor the power to ensure everything is operating safely and as it is supposed to be. These can be incredibly helpful, and it is a good idea to have one with you at all times, just in case.

Collapsible Bowls

When you’re RVing, you still need to eat. Unfortunately, preparing and cleaning up meals is often a big hassle and can take a lot of time. Also, with limited space options in many RVs, you may not be able to bring all of the food preparation gear you use at home. One of the best solutions for this problem is to pick up a quality set of collapsible bowls.

They are easy-to-store, very simple to clean and will allow you to prepare and eat a variety of different meals. They are very light and will use a very limited amount of your space. They can be made from a variety of materials and come in a range of different colors, designs and sizes.

Sewer Solution

Many RVs come complete with a bathroom inside. Many will also allow the use of running water for things like showers and doing dishes. However, the black and gray water doesn’t just disappear, it needs to be safely dumped from the tanks. While some people use the dreaded “slinky” to get the job done, that can be disgusting.

Instead, consider a sewer solution of some kind. In general, a system that macerates the waste and water is generally the way to go. It is not only clean and efficient, but incredibly simple and easy as well. It will also be very simple to store and take with you in most instances, as well.

Stabilizers

If you are new to the world of RV, living in one can be a bit of a shock. While many people think they will be as inherently sturdy as a home, that is not alway the case. They can often wiggle or rock back and forth when living in them, due to the wind, uneven ground or other types of interference. Some will have a system to control and minimize this, but this isn’t always the case.

If your RV sways a little bit more than you would like, consider purchasing a stabilizer. They can reduce nearly all of the movement, and are incredibly easy to attach and install. You should be able to handle all of the work yourself, and it will make your RV a more pleasant place to be.

Portable Fire Pit

One of the best parts about camping, either with an RV or not, is having a fire. However, it’s not always possible to have a fire. Whether there is no fire pit, or a fire ban is in effect, you’re not always able to start and enjoy a fire. That is, unless you have a portable propane-powered fire pit for RVs.

These allow you to easily start a fire anywhere in seconds, and most are approved during fire bans as they are small, controlled and can be stopped very quickly. These pits are very easy to take with you anywhere, and some will come with a cover to stifle quickly and a kit to carry it around. Many different companies make these pits, and they come in a variety of different designs.

In conclusion, these six RV accessories can vastly improve your camping experience and ensure you get the most out of your RV.
