Tips for Traveling to Miami for the First Time

  • April 22, 2019
  • admin

If you are looking for the best tips to travel to Miami you’ve arrived at the right place. Our 15 day trip to Florida allowed us to discover Miami in depth. That’s why today I want to share with you my best recommendations and my travel experience to Miami so you can make the most of the city.

Tips for traveling to Miami

  • After a lot of research and personal experience, the best place to stay in Miami is South Beach. It is close to everything.

  • If you are also going to rent an apartment to spend your vacation and you are going to cook in it, you will like to know that the supermarket with the best prices that we saw was the Publix. If you have a car, which you should, and you are looking for the cheapest supermarket then our recommendation is Aldi.

  • If your flight to Miami is to the airport of Fort Lauderdale I tell you the best options to get to the city: If you arrive during the day and you are looking for the cheapest option, try taking the train from Lauderdale to Miami Airport. Next option would be Bus 150 Miami Beach Airport Express, which leaves every day every 20 minutes. However, If you prefer to be picked up and taken to your hotel, I recommend hiring a car in Miami, since it will cost you a lot less than a taxi in the long run.

  • The best sunset views you can enjoy in Miami is without a doubt in South Pointe Park.

  • Take advantage of the Citywide Free Trolley. These are small buses that make different routes in Miami Beach for free. Depending on the route, they pass every 15 or 35 minutes. From Monday to Saturday they work from 6 in the morning until 12 at night. Sundays begin at 8am.

  • Another good option to move within the city is to move with Uber Pool.

  • To know the essential places to visit in the city ahead of time and certainly before arriving is recommended. Thus a little preparation is in line. Take a look at our best attractions in Florida.

  • If you want to make trips through  Miami on your own, we recommend renting a car. There are many companies but in our experience the best car rental company in Miami in terms of quality is Miles Car Rental. One of the most beautiful excursions from Miami is to take a road trip to the Florida Keys.

  • If you are going to rent a car in Miami keep in mind that the great majority of tolls in Miami cannot be paid with cash. These highways are charged directly by the bank if you have the SunPass card. As you probably have not requested it, the company with which you choose to rent the car will offer it to you. Each one charges a different price.

  • Do not make the mistake of refuelling in South Beach or you will pay dearly.

  • Health in the United States is extremely expensive, so another of my tips for traveling to Miami is that you do not travel without travel insurance.

  • If you doubt whether it is a good place to travel with your child, worry not. Travel to Miami with children can be a blast.

  • Even more so if you are also thinking of traveling to Orlando and visit its amusement parks and have doubts about which of them is the best. Walt Disney World vs. Universal Orlando but they’re both great.

These are all the tips we have to give you for traveling to Miami for the first time. If you go through wth this trip, let us know about your personal experience!
