4 Myths About Charter Flights That Must Be Retired

  • February 14, 2018
  • admin

While many people have experienced the advantages of booking charter flights, others still hesitate. At times, the hesitation is based on ideas about this form of travel that are simply not true. Here are a few of the myths that circulate about flying on a private jet and what is actually the truth.

They Cost Too Much

It’s true that private flights can be expensive. However, you have more control over that expense and can ensure that the cost is affordable. Unlike many commercial airlines, charter services don’t tend to add on fees above and beyond the basic price. There are also ways that you can decline certain types of features and lower the overall cost. By structuring the reservation with care, you could find that the charter flight is actually more affordable than booking several seats on a commercial flight.

The Flights Can’t Land at Major Airports

Charter flights can actually land at major airports and smaller airports. In other words, you have more choices of where to land rather than fewer options. That comes in handy when your destination is actually a smaller city that’s 20 miles away from a major airport.

Consider what it would be like if you were traveling to see a client in Sarasota, FL and could only get a commercial flight into Tampa Bay International. You would need to rent a car and drive the rest of the way. A charter flight could land in Tampa, or it could take you straight to the smaller Bradenton-Sarasota Airport where you can have a car waiting to take you straight to your appointment in minutes.

Commercial Flights are Safer

Charter services must maintain their jets and planes with the same care and attention to detail as the major airlines. This means your decision to book a jet charter in New York that will take you to Atlanta is just as safe as a commercial flight. Given how charters can often maneuver with greater ease in bad weather, you may even be a little safer.

You Still Deal With Long Lines

One of the joys of taking a charter flight is there are no long lines to deal with. You don’t have to stand in line to check in or have your baggage checked. It’s possible to go straight to the jet or plane and settle in. At your destination, forget about dealing with the baggage claim area during a busy time. You collect your luggage as you exit the charter jet and can be on your way in no time.

If something you’ve heard has kept you from traveling on a chartered flight, take the time to find out if the information you have is factual or a myth. Talk with an expert and ask any questions that come to mind. You are likely to find that traveling on a charter jet is affordable, safe, convenient, and something you would enjoy.
