Travelling Tips for the Philippines

 The Philippines are one of the most beautiful countries in Asia, and have been gaining popularity as an exotic holiday destination of late. Many people today travel to the Philippines for different reasons. Apart from being a beautiful place, the Philippines is also a safe place to travel. That’s why thousands of visitors every year fly to the Philippines to enjoy the exotic culture and tradition. If you are planning here are some tips which you might find helpful for your trip.

There is one important aspect which you must take into consideration is that you need to know some of the local terms which are commonly used. You can use some of the mobile apps for tips on speaking Filipinos.

When you arrive

When you land at the Manila NAIA Airport, the first thing  you need to do is to clear customs. This is one area they are very strict and you need to be very careful with what you are carrying in your luggage. Then make sure that you obtained a couple of low value notes of P20 and P50 as they are required for taxi fares and hotel tips

Reach Your Destination

Once you have cleared customs, get hold of a taxi and reach your destination. You can spend the entire day at your hotel and during the evening take a stroll around the city. There are many malls and markets which you can visit. There are many excellent Chinese restaurants where you can have your dinner.

Cebu – A major spot for tourists

There are many spots for tourist interest in the Philippines, and Cebu is one of them. Your trip to the Philippines would remain incomplete without a visit to Cebu.

Cebu is located in the Central Visayas region of the country and is comprised of the Cebu Island more than 100 small smaller islets and surrounding islands. Here you can witness the remains of the Spanish culture who once ruled this part of the world. Some of the places of interest at Cebu are:

  • Fort San Pedro
  • Basilica Minore del Santo Niño church
  • Mt. Busay
  • Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral
  • Cebu Taoist Temple
  • Cathedral Museum of Cebu

Besides, you can spend a long time on the beach with your friends and family.

When it comes to where to stay, a lot of travelers choose a vacation rental in Cebu, there are numerous options which are available to you. There are some excellent hotels which offer excellent accommodation facilities to the tourist. There are some fine restaurants and bars to satisfy your appetite. There is, however, one thing that needs to be taken into consideration, that is, before you come down to Cebu, you must make sure that you have booked the hotels in advance. Else you might have a difficult time to find a suitable accommodation!
