Liverpool is one of the UK’s largest cities, with a wide variety of activities and attractions for visitors. Whether you are a culture lover, a music fanatic, a shopper, or a ravenous foodie, Liverpool has what it takes to make your stay enjoyable and memorable.

Liverpool has a large collection of museums and galleries depicting the richness of its culture and heritage, which are at the very heart of the city. Also, there are a fantastic selection of shows, from grand theatres to intimate clubs.

Music and Performance

Liverpool is widely known for its pop culture and it is officially the World Capital of Pop. If you are a music lover, a trip to The Beatles Story located at the Albert Dock, provides you with a rare peek into the Beatle’s lives characterised by memorabilia of the fascinating Fab Four. Whilst in Liverpool, you should pop into the Cavern Club on Mathew Street, which where the Beatles began their successful music careers.

The Liverpool music scene also features the Echo Arena, which is a world class facility that has attracted big names in the music industry such as Beyoncé, Bob Dylan, and Dame Shirley Bassey. The city also plays host to a number of music concerts and festivals including the Africa Oyé music festival, which is the largest music festival in the UK celebrating African Music.

Sports

Liverpool is the home to two of the English Premier League’s biggest football teams, Everton FC and Liverpool FC at Goodison Park and Anfield respectively. The two clubs widely divide the city and they usually attract an excited crowd whenever they meet. However, Liverpool is not just about football, it is also the home to England’s Golf Coast, one of the finest championship golf stretches on the planet. Furthermore, Liverpool is also the home of Aintree Racecourse (which plays host to the famous John Smith Grand National).

Art and Culture

As one of UNESCO World Heritage cities, Liverpool city boasts of a unique blend of classic and contemporary architecture, including cathedrals and the magnificent Liverpool Waterfront. The World Museum plays host to a variety of events and exhibitions and is great for a family outing. For art lovers, the Walker Art Gallery displays pieces from as early as the 13th to the current century.

Shopping

Shopping in Liverpool is considered to be of a world class experience. If you are a shopper, Liverpool offers a wide range of choices from boutiques, arcades, the farmers markets, bohemian streets to the gleaming new city-centre shopping malls such as Liverpool One, the exclusive Metquarter, and the ultra-fashionable Cavern Walks.

Nightlife

Nightlife in Liverpool has never just been about bars and restaurants, as there are a variety of clubs and events for those looking to party until the early hours.
