Best Summer Vacation Destinations Of 2013

  • July 15, 2013
  • Jules

The days leading up to summer vacation are hectic for everyone planning to go on a holiday. There are air tickets to buy, hotels to book, activities to plan and other arrangements to make. At the same time, you may be so bogged down with office work that you will have no time to attend to any necessities. By the time you are free, there may be no holiday packages left for you to book. Still, you can get some great last minute deals on vacation deals to popular summer vacation destinations if you know where to look.

If you haven’t already decided where to go this summer, then here are four of the best destinations for 2013:

  • Cancun, Mexico: A perfect summer vacation destination within easy reach, Cancun is a resort city in the northeastern corner of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico. Once a part of the great Mayan civilization, it still has many vestiges of its glorious past and is known as the gateway to the Mayan World even today. Its 14 miles of white sandy beaches shaped like the number 7, crystal clear waters and beautiful coral reefs just off the coast attract millions of sunbathers, snorkelers, scuba divers and sports-fishing enthusiasts every year. As a place built especially for tourism, Cancun has all the modern amenities to make your stay a pleasant and memorable experience.
  • Punta Cana, Dominica: If your idea of a perfect summer vacation is playing golf on a scenic seaside resort with cool breeze from the sea blowing in your face, then Punta Cana in Dominica is the place to go to as it offers some of the best golf courses in the world. But that’s not the only reason you should go to this beautiful place. Its miles and miles of white sandy beaches, calm and crystal clear waters, magical lagoons and exotic Caribbean culture make it the perfect summer getaway for a family with children or a romantic couple looking for a temporary love nest.
  • Barcelona, Spain: A heady mix of medieval history and modern art and culture, the beautiful city of Barcelona is one of the top summer destinations in the world. Known as the avant-garde capital of Spain, it has the best of everything you would want to experience in a European city – charming outdoor markets and shops, world class restaurants and bars, beautiful churches and medieval buildings, winding alleyways, picture-perfect boulevards, and art galleries and museums that are some of the best in the world. The picturesque beaches are warm at this time of the year and perfect for a day of swimming, sunbathing and relaxing. The city has so many things to see and do that you will have to go back again and again to fully experience it.
  • Berlin, Germany: The capital of Germany is one of the most important cities in modern world history. Around every corner you will bump into famous buildings and monuments that remind one of the glorious Prussian Period, the dark days under Hitler’s Third Reich and the Cold War. But history is not the only reason to visit Berlin. With over 175 museums, 600 galleries, three opera houses, five major symphony orchestras and hundreds of other attractions, it is a treasure house of art and culture. With creative talent flocking in from every corner of the world, the city is currently at the forefront of art, design, fashion and music. Another good reason to visit Berlin is that it is a thriving multicultural metropolis with a vibrant nightlife. The nightclubs and restaurants are among the cheapest in Europe and you can walk without fear of being attacked or mugged at night.

There are many other great summer vacation destinations around the world. Every place is different and has its own unique flavor. To enjoy your vacation fully, you should go where you haven’t been to before. The cultural experience you will get in a new place will itself be half the fun. You should also plan in advance to make you itinerary as smooth as possible. However, if you simply haven’t had the time, then you can click here to get some great last minute deals on vacation packages to your favorite destination.
