  • Jules

Nicknamed the ‘island of Eternal Spring’, Tenerife has been welcoming travellers for decades. And with pristine beaches, a multitude of watersports, incredible natural scenery, quaint villages, traditional cultures and lively towns – there’s something for everyone in Tenerife!

Climb mighty Mount Teide

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Mount Teide is a massive volcano that is visited by millions of tourists on a yearly basis, keen to hike and climb the summit. This stunning volcano has the highest summit in Spain and measures 3, 718 metres (12,198 feet). In fact the first ascent of Teide was way back in 1582. Adventure travellers should definitely make a point to explore Teide as the surrounding National park is too beautiful to pass up, and although Mount Teide is considered an active volcano, it hasn’t erupted since 1909. The Teide National Park itself is also rich in endemic wildlife, flora and fauna. Expect to see the gecko, blue chaffinch and the rare Corsica mouflon (wild sheep).

Hike the Corona Forestal Nature Park

This is one of the most popular tourist spots in Tenerife because of its sheer beauty. The Corona Forestal Nature Park is very easy to access from most points because it’s near to the main areas of accommodation and tourism in Tenerife. In total the park has a vast land mass of 50,000 hectares. This national park is home to an abundance of wildlife such as the laurel pigeon and the park is teeming with ancient pine trees. More adventurous visitors can try hiking, biking and mountaineering, which is suitable for the whole family and various abilities.

Explore the Historic Centre of Adeje

Visiting the Historic Centre of Adeje should definitely be on your to-do list because of its amazing sights. This spectacular history centre contains an abundance of precious artifacts of Adeje’s past. Furthermore, there are numerous sightseeing tours that will help tourists learn about the history of Adeje. This attraction is always open, and you don’t have to pay an entrance fee. At this history centre, you’ll explore numerous historic buildings like the Convent of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a few churches.

Chill out on Las Teresitas Beach

Widely regarded as the most beautiful beach in Tenerife, Las Teresitas Beach offers a pleasant atmosphere for some fun in the sun. This amazing beach has golden sand that’s always warm. The water is a beautiful deep turquoise colour, and there is always something to do. There are several street vendors and restaurants that provide delicious food, and the amazing hills in the background provide the perfect backdrop for pictures. One thing is certain: Visiting this beach should be on your to-do list.

Wander the beautiful Jardin Botanico

The Jardin Botanico, which simply means ‘botanical garden’ in Spanish, is one of the most beautiful attractions in Tenerife. This spectacular garden is home to over 200 different species of flowers, plants and trees, making it the ideal vacation spot for people who love flowers. Furthermore, this beautiful garden even has a quaint pond that’s filled with turtles and lily pads. The Jardin Botanico offers a tranquil environment that will make your day memorable.
