I’ve often wondered if living somewhere exotic and constantly sunny would be as much fun as it is going on holiday. Would it be different if you lived there? I imagine it would be, as I’m sure you’d have to work, but the dream is a nice one – getting up in the morning to the sun, walking on the beach as the sun sets, cloudless skies and the sea lapping at your feet every day …. ah, bliss!
This is what I love about holidays, the relaxation, the feeling that anything is possible – for at least two weeks, until reality dawns, and we have to go back to work.
We work hard for our annual summer jaunts, so it makes sense to me that holiday mode should begin the moment we wake up on travel day, and not be filled with stress and panic until we land at our destination and are firmly in our hotel.
Travelling to the airport, and the airport experience itself, is often the stressful part of going away. Packing isn’t the best part, but that doesn’t tend to involve the high blood pressure readings that dragging a case to the terminal does.
When I’m coming from the UK one way I’ve found to make the whole experience easier is to pre-book Stansted Parking and drive myself to the airport. The first time I used this service, I booked Bristol Airport Parking , and the moment I returned back to the UK, I wondered why I’d ever put myself through the stress and worry of public transport and luggage combinations, or expensive taxis. Never again!
The convenience of driving your own car to the airport is second to none, and I found the whole experience so easy. Packing the boot at my own pace, setting off when I wanted to, and knowing my car was safe, and ready for me when I got back, it all added up to a much calmer experience than previously.
I’d highly recommend anyone with a car to check out what services are available at their departing airport, and believe me, you’ll save money in the process – win, win!
Another add-on I find incredibly useful when I have an early flight, is to pre-book a night at an airport hotel. Not only does this mean I get a few extra hours shut-eye, which is very important not only for my well-being, but also those around me, it also gives a real feeling of luxury to my break, meaning I start the whole shebang much earlier! As I said before, holidays are about enjoyment, after all.
The larger UK airports have great deals on parking, Luton Airport Parking is a great alternative to the larger UK airports, meaning convenience and relaxation all rolled into one!
My argument that a holiday should start the moment you open your eyes on the day you leave is one I stand by whenever I go away, and with these great value extras available, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t too!
