The summer months are perfect times for you to get out of the house and just spend time with your friends and family. Chances are you don’t want to just sit around the house all day, but instead go someplace you haven’t been before and take in brand new sites. There is so much to see and do out there, you probably have a long list of locations you want to check out, but aren’t sure if you can afford the vacations or not. There are ways to go about obtaining discounted tickets, prices and saving money on just about anything you do, you just need to know where to look. With a few tips and tricks, you can secure a sensible and incredible vacation, without breaking the bank.
For starters, in the summer, to save money on vacations look towards visiting warmer locations. Tourists are less likely to visit Miami, Mexico, southern California and other locations during this time of the year, simply due to the heat. This doesn’t take away any bit from the local attractions and everywhere else is always running the same during these months, so if you don’t mind having it a bit warm, you can purchase these travel tickets at a fraction of the cost. Of course, if the beach is right there, it doesn’t really matter how warm it is. You just need to take a quick swim in the water to cool off while you relax with your incredible savings.
When booking plane tickets, aim for midweek. During this time of the week you are going to cut down on the cost of the tickets a great deal. This is because the demand for these tickets is reduced over what the cost of weekend tickets are.
Chances are, while traveling you need to book a rental car, hotel or both. By booking all three (or two) together, you received a discounted price on all three. Like other services that provide packaged deals, it is less expensive to pay for all three at once then to pay for each one separately. After all, you are probably going to spend money on at least a flight and hotel, so you might as well book both at once and save a bit of money.
There are other ways to save money on holiday vacations this summer also, and this is by looking at your credit card. There are many different features your credit card can provide you that you just don’t receive when paying with cash. For starters, some credit cards give you access to free room upgrades at different hotels. You aren’t actually saving any more money, but you are getter more for the same price. This option is exceptional when it comes to traveling with larger groups and you need to have more space and just don’t want to pay for the upgraded room.
Credit cards also often come with built in rental insurance for a vehicle. Paying for insurance on a vehicle is expensive, especially when renting out the car for a week or more. This alone can add several hundred dollars to your rental price. But with the credit card, the built in insurance is going to save you all this money, and in the event of a crash, the credit card is able to protect you and pay for all of the services necessary for the car.
Waiting until the last minute sometimes has its own perks. Although standby flights don’t really have as much of a money saving ability as it did before the advent of the Internet, it is now possible to save more money on a hotel room. By waiting until the last minute, many hotels are willing to give away rooms for a fraction of the price of what the room usually goes for. Although waiting until the last minute is not always recommended, if you must do it and are running out of the time, it can sometimes behove you to wait a few extra days for the hotel room, and you’ll see the price of the room even lower, as the hotel is simply trying to bring someone into the room that nobody is staying in.
