Switzerland is often overlooked as a holiday destination, yet if offers so much all year round. In winter by day you can ski amongst the soaring Alpine peaks on the powder white snow of St Moritz, Gstaad and Zermatt and soak up the chic après-ski scene by night. And during the summer there are plenty of cultural and historical sights to explore.
There is a city to suit all tastes from chic Geneva, to fun and lively Zurich, to arty and architectural Basel. The food and wine are fabulous too, with influences from Germany, Italy and France all present in the pasta, sausages and wine.
And yes it is still possible to indulge in the classics 1970s favourite, fondue! Although of course it’s entirely a more modern and chic affair, as only the Swiss can pull off.
