Following the launch of direct flights between London and Vietnam in December 2011, the number of Britons visiting Vietnam has dramatically increased. Vietnam Airlines launched the service linking London to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh making it much easier to explore the South East Asian country of Vietnam. There are currently four weekly flights between the countries and the service is expected to expand to a daily basis by 2015.
The UK has also become one of the top ten highest visitors by number with more than 18,000 Britons heading into Vietnam in January 2012 which is a year on year increase of nearly 40%. This follows an awareness drive from The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) across the UK. We at PureTravel have always been a huge fan of Vietnam and this was recently confirmed by readers of the Guardian newspaper whose readers voted Vietnam as their fifth favourite holiday destination; 1. Japan, 2. Maldives, 3. Peru, 4. New Zealand, 5. Vietnam.
So if you’re looking for a slightly unusual adventure destination for 2012, make sure you consider Vietnam; you won’t be disappointed.
