A hotel in Hong Kong has just become the highest hotel in the world. The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is on floors 102 to 118 and offers fantastic panoramic views over the Hong Kong Island skyline, The Peak and the star ferries which will be mere dots in Victoria Harbour. Take a look at the video above, where the harbour haze has abated.
The hotel is within the ICC (International Commerce Center) complex which is situated in Kowloon and reaches some 490 meters (1,600 feet). The hotel is designed with luxury in mind with a swimming pool complete with a 92 foot LED screen, cocktail bar with crystal fire pits and also the world’s highest outdoor terrace lounge on the 118th floor – just don’t look down!
One thing you can be sure of is that is won’t be the tallest hotel for long. In the quest to always build bigger and better the hotel will probably lose the highest hotel crown in 2014 when the J Hotel is scheduled to open in Shanghai Tower in China.
