The ski season is in full swing and if you’re planning your skiing vacation then make sure you’re saving money every step of the way with our tips and advice;
Research – Do your research on resort prices and compare, compare, compare. It could well be that the smaller resorts may come out cheaper. And ask around, you may know somebody that owns a ski chalet and who can rent (or lend) it out!
Drive Don’t Fly – If there is a whole crowd of your or if you are traveling as a family then a self drive ski holiday could be a cost effective option for you. You can also cram in all of your equipment and luggage to save on excess baggage charges.
Exchange Rates – Again do your research and consider which country will offer the best skiing deal for your currency, as exchange rates will affect your budget.
Go Direct – Give yourself more quality vacation time and go direct with the tour operator based in the country you’re traveling to and you’ll get much more flexibility than on a package holiday. Why not try a ski trip in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia or maybe a Finland Ski Tour On The Russian Border?
Self Cater – The more meals you create in your chalet, the more money you will save. And travel just outside of the resort to find a hypermarket to save even more.
…Or Go All Inclusive – With all your meals and drinks and even possibly lift passes included, an all inclusive ski vacation could be an ideal choice for you.
Ski Gear – Weigh up your options and decide whether you take you own ski gear and incur potential extra baggage charges (check with your airline) or whether you hire gear in resort.
