If you’re single and looking for love then forget blind dates, speed dating and holiday romances. Why not try a new approach – how about a special 12 hour matchmaking flight?
We mentioned the love flight a few months ago and it has just taken place, flying from Los Angeles, USA to Auckland, New Zealand. The flight has its own social media networking site, pre-flight airport party, in-flight entertainment and a post flight gala ball.
The sold-out flight attracted more than 100 passengers ranging in age from 20 to 60 plus. A ‘Love Goddess’ hosted the pre flight entertainment with drinks, snacks and a dance routine set to the track by Beyoncé, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” with all the crew taking part – see the video above. During the flight there was champagne and chocolates and an on board love guru to dispense helpful advice.
There are no reports of anyone joining the mile-high club whilst onboard, although an expert did claim that in-flight matchmaking “is a really playful way of offering more bang for your buck… “ which is an interesting choice of words!
Unfortunately the flight seems like a one-off but enough demand would see more lifestyle flights. What new and exciting ideas would you like to see implemented on a flight?
