The film ‘Snakes on a Plane’ turned into reality aboard a Qantas flight after four baby pythons escaped in the hold.
Twelve Stimson’s pythons, each about six inches in length, were being carried from Alice Springs to Melbourne in Australia when four wriggled free from their containers. Passengers were forced to switch planes after staff failed to locate the missing snakes amongst the luggage. To avoid the snakes reappearing during a flight the airliner had to be fumigated.
The other snakes did not eat the baby snakes as they have been weighed and yet the bodies are still to be found!
