When to Go
One of delights of Tajikistan is that the adventures can be enjoyed throughout the year. However the best time to visit id during autumn, from September to November and spring, which is from April to June.
For mountaineering, then arrange your holiday in September, which is the best month to explore the Pamir Mountains.
For rafting, a good time to visit is between April to May or from September to October. These are the best times to start paddling in the Upper Zerafshan River.

However there are also large peaks, the largest being Peak Somoni, which is the highest mountain in the country and is situated in a mountainous province known as Gorno-Badakhshan. Peak Somoni is one of the Pamir Mountains, which are listed as one of the world’s highest mountains. This peak was discovered during the Tajik Complex Expedition in 1932. Since then, it’s luring people from all over the world who are engrossed in mountaineering.
The elevation level of Peak Somoni is 7,495 meters, which offers a challenge, so ensure you are well prepared. There are different routes with different skill levels that can be used by mountaineers. If you are looking for the most popular one, then opt for the Borodkin route.
In addition you can also go up Peak Korzhenevskaya, which is the third highest peak of Tajikistan. This peak is about 13km from Peak Somoni.
